TOPIC: De Novo Dahl in Johnson City

I know that this is The Features message board, but I want to support De Novo Dahl also and they don't have a message board. So I am putting this on here. I know they have a lot of fans on this site and that last time they played no one really seemed to know about it. So, they are playing in Johnson City on Friday night at The Hideaway. If you are from there, or want to take a road trip, you should go see them! They are amazing. If you haven't heard them before, you will be very pleased. The show is $3 for 21+ and $5 for 18+. go support them because they are a great band and they are very big supporters of The Features too. I wish I could go, but my car is broken. So someone go for me, and enjoy it! laugh.gif

They are also playing this coming Sunday at 3rd and Lindsley for Nashville Sunday Night... hopefully a lot of people will show up. Good luck DND!

I'll definitely be there Friday night. Sunday night is a maybe. I might stay home and tape it, or I might just go...we'll see...

Find someone to do that for you. It'll make life easier.

The Features and Fl Oz did that in 99 on the radio from 3rd & Lindsley. Good show. Good bootleg.

The only types of bands I've heard on the live shows are either too folky (Americana, are they the same?) or too bluesy for me. But I haven't heard a great deal of the Sunday night shows, anyway. 91.1 plays some very good stuff if you catch it right.

probably depends on who's playing the music. some kids have great taste in music, others make you feel like you're listening to 107.5 the river. de novo dahl will be a good changeup for most of the sunday night lineups. it's going to rock! rolleyes.gif

That's not something you hear very often in the Tri-Cities area.....but hey, if I was home I would go check it out and show some support....

I'll have to agree completely there. Maybe I should have put, "And, I thought I would never say this, but..." in front of the partying comment. It's a rare thing indeed.

I plan on going out there tonight. However, despite being a long time JC resident, I've not been to the Hideaway before. Can some one give me some directions or at least an address. Thanks, a ton.

232 Main St. Enter through the back entrance on band nights, though. There's a parking lot there.

I guarantee that if I ever get to take a trip to "Johnson City", it'll be a party.

Update for those of you who care: The bands played very nicely this weekend. I had great fun getting to know them, and I look forward to their next trip here.
I watched De Novo Dahl for the first time, and I was really impressed. They are as great as everyone proclaims; that's for sure. And Lone Official are just getting more and more popular here. It's always good to see people in the place that I live appreciate good music.

ah yes, 'twas a great show and even better weekend. the jc kids were very turned on by dnd, as they bought several cds. it's a damn shame they couldn't get in on the wiffle ball homerun derby the next day. i think that that should become the norm for the rest of the summer. i can have band v. band tournaments.

hotpipes are my now my second favorite band.

Blah. I saw them for the second time at the End on Thursday. I think they're ok, but they could never be one of my "favorites", unless something dramatic happens. Again I say, blah.

The most fun involves homerun derbies and spinning on bats. And, of course, photo ops with the Mayor including obscene gestures. Yes, they are becoming one of my favorites, as well.

Yes, JC had a great time with JC & Co. in JC this weekend. DND and the Hot Pipes were both fantastic. It was the latest show I've ever been to. I think De Novo Dahl, who played first, went on stage at midnight. We had a fantastic time on Saturday, too, didn't we?

By the way, did ya'll hear DND on the radio tonight? It sounded goooood.

I just wanted to add this too. Thanks to you all for being so great this weekend. I needed the good company, and you guys kept me from feeling bad. It was nice to hang out with people that I usually just see at shows (jc and mike_d) on a more personal level. You guys are way cool.
And, Saturday was by far the weirdest day I've had in a long time.

I wanted to tune in to Lightning 100 last night, but I got busy with other things and totally forgot about it. I very much enjoyed DND when I heard them. It also would've been an easy bootleg to make. Oh well.
