TOPIC: dumb & dumberer

all this sequel talk led me to think about the new dumb & dumber movie coming out. when i heard about it a few months ago i was soo excited. then i saw the preview today and saw that neither jim carrey nor jeff daniels is going to be in it. its just two punks playing them in high school. im so mad. im not going to go see it. i cant belive they are using different people. this is going to turn out like Scarlett; not a bad story but no one can compare to the originals.

I have seen "Dumb & Dumber" twice but I either wasn't paying much attention or missed half of it, so I'm not familiar with the first one. The fact that they are, indeed, two punks imitating the original actors isn't cool. I'm rarely down with characters having the actors who play them be replaced.

You mean like Ewan McGregor playing Obi-Wan? I agree. They should have dug up the original actor who played Obi-Wan for episodes 1-3. That would have made a lot more sense. Oh, and James Earl Jones as young Anakin would have been sweet.

It's a prequel, people.

but it's also not THAT far in advance... I mean, we're talking about a 40 year difference with Star Wars... plus the 20 years between the original movies and the prequels being made... Where as Dumb and Dumber is what, 7, 8 years old? and the prequel is how many years before? maybe 10? that can be made up with makeup.

It really pissed me off when Bo & Luke were replaced with Coy & Vance. God, what were they thinking?!

They didn't think that the average slack-jawed yokel who watched the show would realize the difference.

I wish this movie (back to Dumb and Dumberer ) had never been made. It looks terrible...really terrible. Plus, it makes me uncomfortable to say the title because it sounds so awkward.

Ughh...
Shudder...

I am in utter disgust with this movie. It makes me mad beyond words. Dumb and Dumber is one of my favorite movies of all time, and I have every single word of it memorized. Jim does not support this movie, and neither do I.

Yeah... shouldn't it be "Dumber and Dumberer" if they're going to stick to the double 'er' for the second word? However, this would only make comedic sense for a sequel, and since this is a prequel, maybe it should be "Mediocre Intelligence and Dumb"

Good point. Or, as I think we all seem to agree, maybe it shouldn't be at all.

Time and money would be better spent on a Perfect Strangers reunion to be released in theaters nationwide. Larry and Bowkie on one more zany escapade = cash cow at the box office. Maybe they could figure out how the hell Larry got to date that slutty blonde chick, or at least how Bowkie had a girlfriend at all.

Hmm, that's a decent idea. But somehow I think it could be another bad reunion show that would never have theater potential. Unless it were to be of the high quality that "The Brady Girls Get Married" is...then, it would be great! I'm dead serious.

Well, I was just kidding about the Perfect Strangers reunion being in theaters, but I honestly think that it would do well as a made-for-tv reunion. And yes, "The Brady Girls Get Married" is great. Man, I haven't seen that in forever.

Oh, I have it on video, along with basically every other Brady-related video known to man.

I don't take knocks against the Dukes of Hazzard very well. It is a soft subject since I love the show so much. Sorry for the hostility.
