I agree, we could have it much worse. Not fearing for your life everywhere you go is pretty sweet.

I wonder if Brooks and Dunn agree. They were on that there Las Vegas teevee show last night.
Daigle is all we need to make the night complete

Do you mean the show Las Vegas, or did you actually visit?

Cool. Where did you stay, where did you play, and how did you do?

One thing I do like about Vegas and other big cities out west is how their street signs are so big and they light up, so they're really easy to read. Also, most cities in the southwest are really logically laid out. The streets are usually a perfect grid, so it's really easy to navigate.

I met Cletus T. Judd at Wal-Mart once. He signed my box of Pop-Tarts.

Southwestern cities are usually more diverse, though: better ethnic food choices, and more shopping. And never eat an orange out there and then come back here and try to eat one. Trust me, it'll be disgusting.

But I went to a public high school with the highest volume of gang members in the district (but never really on campus, and still in the suburbs, kind of), so I guess I can walk around out there without so much fear for my life. But maybe it's because I'm never out alone when I'm back in AZ...Hmmm.

According to CNN.com, Nashville is ranked as one of the most polite cities in the country (Charleston, SC is number one). Los Angeles also made the most polite cities cut. Now I've never been to L.A., but I've only heard it described as a post-apocalyptic hell hole. Maybe that produces an atmosphere conducive to etiquette, though.

Los Angeles is actually much nicer than the reputation makes it seem (the same is true about the South). And it's not that people aren't friendly, it's that they're not in-your-face in your business - but no one was rude while I was there. I even drank the tap water, and didn't die.

So completely true.
I consider myself a native of Tennessee, but I actually only lived there a cumulative of four years... so really i'm just a nomad...
but now when i go back to visit...
i'm just in awe of people's demeanor and politeness, and how cordial they all are.
this past weekend i just kept saying ..."people are sooo nice"
people in STL are distant.
...love fights

i've learned not to use the phrase "excuse me" when walking through crowds in nyc. it does no good & i think new yorkers would rather you say "get the f**k out of my way"

a little late on the response but i work for a company called DeCorp America Inc. . We produce wire for basically everything (audio, electrical, video, data) that is completely flat to the point where it disappears when you paint or wallpaper over it. If you have any idea what it is like wiring a house or anything like that, you can figure out what a big deal it is.

anyway it was quite an experience. it turns out that the first day of the show Bill Gates decided to stop bby our both himself and check out the wire. that was insanity. but yeah. 200,000 people...mostly tech nerds. it was really fun.

and im glad its only once a year.
