Murfreesboro sucks and I don't really have a backyard, so by process of elimination, I chose Exit/In. My favorite venue for them is probably the End though. I guess they've out-grown it.
I TOTALLY AGREE!

Keith, you are destined to rock. Never forget this.

They sound great at exit/in. the end would be a good choice too. The best show I've ever seen was at Blue Cats in Knoxville. Not enough of a reason to live there though.

In Murfreesboro, you can soak in the center of the universe.

I think Exit/In is probably the best venue to see them. The worst venue in which I've seen the Features would have to be the Long Branch Saloon in Knoxville. Yuck!

I like the Boro (for the long, fun sets the Features usually play there) and the Exit/In and Blue Kats (for the incredible sound). But my favorite is still the End (though like Keith said, I think their days of playing there are over). The End is more rock'n'roll than you and me and all of our friends put together. It's loud. It usually sounds great. It's a shithole. It only serves beer. The Features have always seemed to kick the intensity up a notch when they've played there.
Relevant: Prince, PT Anderson, Punk, Post-Punk, Purple, Party of Five, Peter Swanson, Peter Gabriel-led Genesis, "Peter Panic", Paul's Boutique, Potential Energy, Every Features MB member but me.

i must also agree on the end. it's quite a cozy little venue. one of the best things about it is the courtyard outside. if there is some shit band playing before, you can sit out there and not lose your hearing. plus you can shoot hoops on the 12ft. goal.

my favorite features performance happened at the end. it was at the monsters of pop festival. probably '99, or 2000. this was the infamous show where pelham hopped on parrish's back and proceeded to do a backdive into the drum kit. the best part was that it wasn't even their own drums. i think mars music had loaned it for the festival. ah the features...always sticking it to the man.
You know you have problems, with both money and alcohol, when you find yourself shoving beers down your pants outside a Features show.

The End is a club in the Elliston Place neighborhood of Nashville. It's been around forever, though it used to be called Elliston Square in the old days. It's across the street from (and owned by) the Exit/In. As far as size, I'd say it has about the same capacity as the Boro.

Man, I WISH I could have seen a Features show at the Longbranch! That place is by far the coolest bar on the strip. Billiards, Foosball, PBR, Jukebox and no dumbshit Greeks. Not to offend any Fratenity/Sorority folks, unless you attend UT, they seem to be all right at some other schools.

they're still idiots for the most part. once when i was coming back from class, i bumped into a frat guy who apparently mistook me for somebody who wanted to talk to him. he said he was running late for class, but that he didn't mind. at this point, he made one of the most profound statements ever: "T is for tardy, man..."
i agreed with him that tardy did in fact start with the letter T, and went back to my room, where I shut my head in the door a few good times.
We'll miss you Mr. Hooper.

from what i can gather, of course there are exceptions, most of those people are just scary altogether. i was at this party on night at this guy's house, and he drank like an entire bottle of rum, right. the we walked over to a bar. on the way home, he begins to beat the hell out of a stop sign, then moves onto his friends. he took his shoes off. when we tried to put his shoes back on him for the walk home and he yells, "those are fag shoes! I'm not wearing the fag shoes!" then we tried to help him into his house, "that's a fag house! I'm not going into the fag house!" he promptly fell off the stairs into a large prickly bush, threw up all over himself and passed out on the couch.

this is one of many sad sad tales i have to tell about frat boys. ph34r.gif
thank you for being a friend.

i'm no frat boy, but i must defend drunken stupidity... shit happens when you drink massive ammounts... for the record, i do not endorse drunken violence. personally, i'm a friendly drunk.

sounds like a self-loathing closet case.
