jamiecarroll will probably be angry at this observation, but while watching the 'daydream believer' video on vh1 classics last night, i noticed that each feature has a monkee equivalent:
rollum=peter tork   (they look like long lost brothers)
matt=davy jones   (except matt's not that short)
parrish=mike nesmith  (they both wear hats)
roger=mickey dolenz  (roger should grow his hair like mickey's)

I don't have any problem with saying that the Features might *look* like the Monkees. Let's just let the comparisons end there...
Relevant: Prince, PT Anderson, Punk, Post-Punk, Purple, Party of Five, Peter Swanson, Peter Gabriel-led Genesis, "Peter Panic", Paul's Boutique, Potential Energy, Every Features MB member but me.

Roger can't be Mickey because that role is already being played by a certain character/lifeboy/lambchop guitarist.

Ha! So I'm not the only one who recognized Willie T. as the illegitimate son of Mr. Dolenz? There's obviously something to this...

I definately agree with the Willy T cartoon character observation. Especially the Character part.

if william tyler were a muppet, which one would he be? sesame street included.

What was that frog's name with the tuxedo that would occasionally break into 'Hello My Baby'?

Not a muppet, but still on topic.

I TOTALLY AGREE!

Much like a Monkee starting MTV, Michigan J. Frog started the WB network... and the topic comes full circle... almost.

That would be Mike Nesmith...ah, Mike. He has always been my favorite Monkee. I had the biggest crush on him when I was about four years old and thought I was going to marry him. At one time, he performed under the pseudonym of Michael Blessing and did a little song called "Until It's Time for You to Go"... it's beautiful.

I could proudly go on a Monkees rant right now, but I'm absolutely sure that everybody else thinks that they were talentless and lame...so I won't even get into it.

However, it's hard to say who is most like who...I would hate to equate any of them with Davy Jones. Davy's cute and English...but he's arrogant, and I would hate to think of any of The Featues being as self-absorbed as Davy Jones is.

I, too, would have to vote Mike Nesmith as the coolest Monkee. The hat, the sideburns, the unbridled talent...he rocks. Heck, I've watched Daydream Believer at least twice.

I refuse to watch Daydream Believer because I know it would just make me mad. I was mad whenever I saw previews for the thing. I'm sure it's an entertaining film, but I could never bring myself to watch it.

I would also vote for mike as my favorite monkee. he wrote one of their best songs "circle sky" from the movie "head". the monkees are extremely underrated. "porpoise song" is one of the greatest songs ever written......

I dig Mike Nesmith. Pretty much all the Monkees fans I know are Mike fans; he's even got killer solo stuff, if anyone's interested.

I once heckled Davy Jones when he played at a casino a couple years back. It was a painful show.

You sir, are the man. And with the "Village Green" avatar, no less.

"Day of the Dead" is something for the true fans I guess - nerds like me.

But I digress...
