TOPIC: Final Fantasy VII Movie

FFVII Movie

I'm very interested in this. I thoroughly enjoyed the first movie that squaresoft attempted (Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within) and loved the FFVII game. I'm pretty sure there's at least one other person here interested in this... unsure.gif

well hell yeah im interested. im an absolute geek when it comes to...everything...but especially videogames and EXTRA especially anything that concerns Final Fantasy. Im really lucky i found a hot girl that digs me, because...yeah.

but i digress.

the advent children thing looks really interesting. only thing that kinda sucks is that i think its a straight to DVD kinda thing. we'll have to miss out on seeing it on the big screen. and while FFVII is great it doesn hold a candle to FFIII (US).

and i have now lost all cool points.
hell, its worth it.

actually, I'd have to say that VII is my favourite over III (US). If I were to rate my top five, it would be:

1. VII
2. III (US)
3. X
4. I
5. II (JAP)

the trailer on that site i linked looks awesome, even if a slow download.

list is alright...although im not sure about FF1. I mean its a nice little challenge and it has nostalgia value...but its pretty much devoid of any storyline. that is uaully the biggest part in the games a choose.
my list would go a little sumptin like:

1. III (US)
2. X
3. VII
4. II (US)
5. VIII (highly underrated)

i mean the trailer is cool and how can you diss Sephiroth? but the greatest villian of all final fantasy time is easily:

definitely the reason i choose it. it was one of the first video games i bought.

I did not like VIII or IX at all...

I had a loser boyfriend who made me watch the first movie. I now hate him, and anything I've ever associated with him, so yeah....Final Fantasy sucks.

I don't enjoy video games unless they are of the NES and Sega variety. I dislike them because I suck at them.

Im not into anything that pertains to fantasy or anime or video games, or creatures that fight each other. I never made it past the original nintendo as far as video games are concerned. I like physical activity more than anything, and playing music and such. tv bores. internet bores me. I love card games, chess matches, board games usually suck because they take too long and usually require little skill. .....I dunno, its hard to entertain me sometimes.

Hasn't anyone else had that problem where you're dating someone, and you do stuff together, and shit gets associated with them after time?

I'm glad that this loser that I hate was into stupid shit like Skinny Puppy and fucking raves and bullshit like that. I hate him so much. I hope he chokes on a dick.

1.chrono trigger
2.final fantasy 3
3.xenogears
4.earthbound
5.final fantasy VII
i remember getting excitebike, kung fu, and baseball on the same night. my first rpg was dragon warrior. my first issue of nintendo power had ninja gaiden on the cover. my first game(other than smb)was popeye. my first light gun game was hogan's alley. aaahhhhhh....

I am going to hate this movie. Only because there were rumors that Square was going to show it's new "sequel to Final Fantasy VII" and it turned out to be a fucking DVD. My list of the all-time greatest RPGs is very similar to Exliontamer's:

1. Chrono Trigger
2. Final Fantasy VI (III US)
3. Earthbound
4. Final Fantasy VII (only really makes my list due to the nostalgia factor)
5. Lunar: Silver Star Story

Oh, and good call on Kefka being the best FF villain.

Chrono Trigger was awesome. The Secret of Mana was its predecessor and was quite an amazing game itself. Too bad the RPG genre went to shit on Nintendo systems post-Super Nintendo.
I TOTALLY AGREE!

screw all of the rpg naysayers...
Screw the naysayers indeed.

FF Top 5:
1. V
2. VI (JP) / III (US)
3. IV (JP) / II (US)
4. VII
5. IX

Worst: X, though I can't abide VIII either.

RPG Top 5:
1. FF V
2. Chrono Trigger
3. FF VI
4. Secret of Mana (does this count?)
5. Xenogears

But I actually prefer FFTactics to any of those games. I just really enjoy that combat system. I need to get a GBA just for that new FFT game.

Excitebike was my first non-SMB game. My first Nintendo Power had Track and Field on the cover. I think it was issue three. I always wanted Hogan's Alley, but never got it. I remember getting SMB2 and staying up all night two days in a row (unknown to my parents) until I beat it straight through, no warps. My favorite game as a kid was Megaman 2. The game I had as a kid I most wish I had is SMB3.

Geekery unleashed.

Did anyone ever play Kingdom Hearts? It associated Disney and Final Fantasy characters into the same game. I loved it. but I'm a disney freak.

Top Five RPGs:

1. FF III (US)
2. Chrono Trigger
3. Star Wars:Knights Of The Old Republic (really)
4. Tie Super Mario RPG and FFX
5. Diablo II

Kingdom hearts was pretty cool to play around with the disney characters...and the Hercules section of the game was really fun. im not really one for all hack and slash games though. especially with a story as flimsy as that game's.

thanks exliontamer for those nice words. I tried my hardest to get into Xenogears myself but...i dont know....square has a way of getting way too convoluted...especially when its about religion.
nice list though.

Lunar fucking rocked.

also, I prefered Diablo to Diablo II.

Does Willie Beamish count? I loved that game...

I know it was a semi-adventure game a la Zelda, but the fact that you had a party of characters and they had hit and magic points makes it an RPG in my book.
I TOTALLY AGREE!

Parasite Eye was alright...i guess. i dont know. I really dislike resident evil type games. But it really wasnt TOO much resident evil besides all the zombie-ish things and you use guns.
What really turned me off to that game was all the customizable things you could do to your weapons.

And yes secret of mana is definately an RPG. i mean you gained levels and everything.

did anyone ever play the Final Fantasy Legends series for the gameboy? I found them to be very enjoyable and quite the challenge... I still haven't beaten the second one.

FF Legend was called Saga in Japan. Saga Frontier is a decent PS1 game that is the sequel to the gameboy titles. Worth a look if you liked the FFLegend games.
