TOPIC: For all the Pumpkinheads out there...

All this recent talk of the Smashing Pumpkins on the board reminded me to pass this along:

The first single from Zwan, a band containing Billy Corgan and Jimmy Chamberlain from the Smashing Pumpkins, is "Honestly." You can hear the song at www.zwanmusic.com

The song makes me happy. Its not quite as though the Pumpkins are back, but what I hear is something that most Pumpkins fans would like (and good for that lovesick feeling, as long as it is things-seem-to-be-going-well lovesick).

I've had the song just about ever since it was leaked. I really don't know what to think about it. I loved the Pumpkins so much.

If you download any live Zwan songs, you should get the song "And so I died of a broken heart" I love that song so much.

I hope when Zwan starts to tour they don't forget TN.

I haven't been overly impressed with what I've heard so far, but I'm hopeful. I just hope billy and jimmy don't pick up where they left off with machina.

Personally I'd be happy if they picked up where they left off with Machina. I thought it was one of the best albums they ever put out, but of course I think everything they did was great. The only thing I'd change about Machina is the mystery and concept they put along with it. That drove me nuts.

I have such a long list of music that I have to download and check out when I go home for X-mas. It's insane, of course zwan is on my list.

Though I wouldn't mind that, it seems to me that they're picking up where they left off with "Untitled", which was a great song.

Personally, I thought it was a steady decline from Siamese Dream, but I really like almost all of Mellon Collie and Adore. Machina was just hit or miss with me. Most of it seemed really forced. I went to the website yesterday and I have to say the concept with Machina is very intriguing (sp?). I'll have to check it out when I have more time. Wasn't there supposedly a Machina II that was just available online? Is the rairities disc that came with the greatest hits any good? I'm sorta behind on the whole thing.

Machina II is great and the rarities disc is not bad, though it draws too heavily on previous releases, I feel.

The last time I checked, you can still get Machina II on the official site. http://www.smashingpumpkins.com It was only released online in mp3 form and only 25 official copies of it were ever pressed.

And I don't think it's been mentioned, but the new Zwan album will be out on Jan. 28.

Yeah, I can see where it once was available, but it's "ghosted out" now. Strangely enough, so is Adore.

I think liked Machina better also, but when I go back to adore and listen to it, after I haven't listened to it in a while man it's just hard to choose, so I just enjoy all of the music.

Yes. "For Martha" is easily one of their better long songs, and they have some great ones. "Drown" and "Starla" are probably better, but for me I think that's it.

The 2nd to last show (the United Center show) had an amazing "For Martha" by the way, where Billy's father joined the band and played the solo, especially great since the song is about Billy's mother. One of the most touching concert experiences of my life.

I am so jealous of you.

I sat home that night listening to the webcast and crying because I knew I'd never have a chance to see them again. yes... pathetic I know...

Did you go to the Metro show too?

I couldn't get tickets to either... too damn expensive.

No, the Metro show was out of my tax bracket. I figured I could swing the UC ticket price though, which was $50 if I recall...

I have the show on cd now... its pretty sweet. I wish they'd hurry with the cd/dvd of the metro show though.
