Every single doubt I had about MTSU and every single ounce of hatred that I have gathered for this school after this week's traffic traumas was erased today. MTSU officially rules and I am so glad that I go there.

Why?

Because today during the marvelous "Freedom Sings" program, not only did I get to see Features-producer and musical wizard Craig Krampf play drums, I got to see Matt Pelham sing both "Louie Louie" and "Learn To Fly" by the Foo Fighters to a crowd of mass comm students. I will forever love Professor Dennis O'Neal for offering extra credit for this. The program is a multi-media presentation of how the first amendment affects music, featuring a live band and video clips. It really was a very entertaining and informative program.

And, of course, getting to hear and see Mr. Pelham perform for the first time since May was also an extreme bonus. I think this was so great because it defined random. Really, who would have expected this? Tis a great day, and I cannot wait to see them at the Red Rose, which Matt said they were flyer-ing for this weekend.

Great, great day. Let freedom ring.

Let freedom ring indeed. That was randomness at its height, and it was splendid. Matt and Craig did fantastic jobs. I was very pleased...although...I was really hoping Matt would sing and shout "I'm black and I'm proud" along with everybody else on the stage, but alas, one cannot have everything.

If I wasn't the nice person that I am who decided to accompany Digsy to his extra credit opportunity, I would have missed out.

I wish the boys luck in Chatanooga tonight, and I cannot wait until next week's shows. This has really made me excited. biggrin.gif

I was quite surprised at how few MB people were there since I know that about 10+ of us go to MTSU. Of course, this whole "Freedom Sings" thing wasn't really advertised and, again, Matt's involvement was totally random...

The show was awesome. I only heard "Louie Louie" but that was enough. Aug. 28 was one fine day of music. And Craig's intro was hilarious.
