Well part of Fugazi to be exact. Ian MacKaye will be speaking at MTSU on November 20th. The lecture is free and is in the Business and Aerospace Building at the State Farm Lecture Hall and starts at 7 PM.

My teacher just casually mentioned this today and I could not believe it so I went to Dischord to make sure and it is confirmed on the site. He will also be speaking to selected classes at MTSU if you are lucky enough to be in one. I am... and I am so excited.

Just thought that everyone might like to know, if they didn't already.

I, too, am very excited about Mr. MacKaye coming to MTSU. I heard about it a week ago. I will defintely be there. wow, next week will indeed be exciting. first of all, mr mackaye will be giving his speech on the 20th, then on the 21st, Calvin Johnson(formerly of beat happening as well as the owner of K Records) will be performing at the Red Rose. what a glorious week!

On a related note, he's not exactly a rock star, but Ben Stein will be speaking here at Vanderbilt the next night (the 21st).

I saw Ben Stein speak up here last year, and I don't even know how to describe it. He said so many strange things and I just figured from what I've seen of him that his humor would just be so straightforwardly dry. I could never tell if he was fucking with us or not. He was so hard to read and it made the whole experience really amusing but really weird.

I saw Win Ben Stein's Money this morning on Comedy Central at 9:30. It's still on just in a bad time slot.

so does anyone know what ian is talking about?
what kind of classes will he be in?

i would love to hear him just talk about the band, but it will probably be about how a business can be succesful outside of the typical american model.

either way, i'm there.
