TOPIC: Galifianakis & Gaffigan
Posted  Friday, October 24, 2003 at 8:54 AM
Post 1 of 26
I would just like to let everyone know that Zach Galifianakis and Jim Gaffigan will be performing next Wednesday (October 29th) at Tucker Theater @ MTSU (where the Presidents played) for ZERO dolares. If anyone has seen either of them on Conan or their many projects, you'll know it'll definitely be worth it.

And just to make this relevant, I'm pretty sure that iwantelvis and myself will be giving Zach a Features mix CD as a thank you for his hilarity. He likes the Shins, he should like the Features.

Try? Try? Is there some cool scenester activity going on that night that I'm not aware of (on second thought, why would I be aware of it...)?

Anybody who is anybody will be at the G & G Comedy Factory.

This was indeed comedy supreme. Powder P got talked to during the routine. It was priceless. And, his joke about being a drunk if you mix your gin with Capri Suns really hit home for brother love, powder p, and myself. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time.

Man, Zach Galifianakis is the nicest drunk person I have ever met.

Yes, he was simply delightful.
Aw....I was so sad to see him leave. sad.gif But it was so much fun while it lasted. smile.gif

The show was great. Jim Gaffigan cracked me up, and Zach was, of course, to die for.
But what will happen to the boy when the circus comes to town?

There were so many hilarious moments last night. But my two favorites are leaving Chris Hardwick of Singled Out a voice mail at 2 in the morning and watching Jim Gaffigan throw "poppers" (gunpowder things?) inside The Boro.

I don't think he meant "nice" in that way.

Those were two prime moments. Your Chris Hardwick voice mail was hilarious, as was Jim Gaffigan's face after he threw down the popper things.

both jim and zach put on hilarious shows. i'm sure my everyday speaking will be sprinkled with comedic catch phrases for a while (ie jim's "that's sad" an zach's "girl, he ain't gonna e-mail you!"). but the best part had to be that the screaming assheads just happened to be playing the boro after the show. what a treat. favorite spoken word over thrash metal lyric of the night: "i walked away from mtsu two years ago with nothing but a degree in MOTHERFUCKER WHERE'S MY SALARY?!"

I was just about to comment on them. I can say without a doubt that they are the worst ensemble I've ever seen.

Yes, the show was great. I prefer Jim to Zach mainly because he has a much more self-depricating act. I'm saddened that I was not able to attend the "after party," as it seems it was glorious, but I was feeling a bit under the weather and it would not have been for the best. I would like to say, however, that the audience was full of assholes.

That's so NA.

What was up with all of those retards? First of all, the FHM Comedy Supreme Team Of Morons should have known better than to hand out 1000 lightweight glow-disks. It wasn't long before a freakin' meteor shower erupted. I think every single person in the place got pelted...ugh...

According to him, the weed wasn't working...so I guess I now know to never take weed from anyone wearing a Grand Funk Railroad t-shirt.

Ah, and Zach's new show "Tru Calling" is debuting tonight on Fox @ 7 pm central time. Don't watch it, he wants it to get canceled.

whatever

I, for the record, did not get pelted with any glowing disks. I was tempted to horde them, pelt the shit of the guy with the ponytail, and then gank his ladies. He wanted no piece of rd.

Well, I never got hit with a disk, but I did get a nice shower of radioactive-glow-goo when they started to explode. Plus, the guys beside me kept shouting for titties. What a bunch of putzes. Nothing was more evident that night than the fact that I go to school with a bunch of jackasses who can't act like they're adults.
