Since I'm no longer a kid, Christmas isn't really my favorite holiday anymore. In the past few years, halloween has been the holiday I look forward to most. I maintain a strong belief that you're never too old to dress up and pig out on candy. I'm going to go to several parties, and I'm going to be a cowboy.

What are YOU doing?

My favorite holiday is a tie between Thanksgiving and New Years Eve/Day.

Oh yeah, for Halloween: Saturday, I think I'm going to see Feable Wiener at the Exit/In. My Sundays in the fall are usually devoted to church in the morning and football the rest of the day, and I don't think this week will be any different. I guess I'm not going to be dressing up as anything. I am literally the least creative person in the world when it comes to costumes, so I've pretty much given up on dressing up on Halloween for the time being.

Anyone who knows me would tell you that at my house it's Halloween 24/7. So when it comes to the actual day, I'm pretty tame about it! This year, since I can't walk, I was thinking about being Corey Haim from "Silver Bullet" since he's in a wheelchair in that movie.

You'll need a good drunk Gary Busey to make that work.

Very.

Today someone told me about a guy who painted on a black eye and wore a t-shirt with a big "P" written on it so he could be a black--eyed pea. I thought that was cute.

Oh, and I'm too tired to do anything for Halloween. We are going to stay home, eat salmon, drink wine, and watch Psycho. It will be my first night at home in what feels like weeks. Every year I talk about doing something really cool for Halloween and never do. Oh well. I'm really looking forward to Thanksgiving and Christmas this year, though.

I went to a haunted house tonight - "Death Row." It was fun, but not nearly as scary as the one we went to last year ("Slaughterhouse"). Also, it was waaaayyyy too long (45 minutes or so) and had wayyyy too many strobe lights. So now I have a headache. But I'm happy about Daylight Savings Time being over, because I get to sleep an extra hour. Anyway, on the way home, I heard someone talking on the radio about how, over the years, Halloween has morphed from a kids holiday into what is now a holiday that seems to be equally celebrated by adults. Interesting. And not entirely untrue, judging by the people I saw out tonight.

I've had a Halloweekend. Thursday I was Fred Schneider of the B-52s (IWE was a B-52 ette, although we both just looked like crazy people). Um, Friday night I was Tim from "The Office," complete with homemade HatFM. At the Carmike party that I just got back from, I was Han Solo, my masterpiece. If it's not too sweaty and nasty, I'm wearing it tomorrow too. Halloween rules. I'm sure I'll have pictures of my costumes on Myspace soon.

this year i tried to go to the haunted prison. but they moved it. so i ended up driving around the grounds of an actual prison. then i got pulled over by the prison security because they thought i was trying to break someone out. he yelled at me. we ended up going home because we decided that was a lot scarier than the haunted prison could ever be.

There's a Misfits cover band called The Skulls headlining the Mercy Lounge garage rock show tonight with Trauma Team, The Clutters, and the Fortyfives. Should be cool.

I went to Death Row on Friday night. It was extremely long, very hot, and not scary at all. There were so many great opportunities of which they simply didn't take advantage. For such a L-O-N-G attraction, they really needed more live actors. The strobe lights gave me a headache, too.

I love Halloween. James Riot and I dressed up like Azrael Abyss and Cerci Nightshade (Goth Talk from SNL). Lots of fun. James Riot, you looked very sexy, as always. biggrin.gif

halloween was fun this year. i'd say thursday night was my favorite. but the marquee moon band sunday night was amazing.

i just got really frustrated with the whole costume thing this year. i'd think of things but couldn't find the materials in time. either that or i couldn't think of anything at all. my brilliant idea was to be the mattoid. i planned on fashioning a mask of some sort, getting a poncho, some blue suede shoes, and carrying around a 2 liter of diet dr. pepper and a bottle of antiseptic lotion. time just ran out.
