It just occurred to me that BrianEno would have had to change his birthdate in his profile sometime since Monday for it to show up again today...hence he's not actually gone? Or it's a poltergeist? OR jamiecarroll is to brianeno as Dr. Jekyll is to Mr. Hyde? He is the one that started this thread, after all, and his benevolence must have some hidden dark side.

All I can say is what I've always said: brianeno2 still exists today, if you believe in him.

By the way, happy birthday again, Brian Eno. When you are a god, as Mr. Eno is, a year passes as quickly as a day would pass for mere mortals such as us.

I don't believe he's the same as BrianEno2, and I think whoever the person is, though they have never posted, is messing with us.

But he has posted, YDDD. Go to his profile page. It says that he posted 6 times. But when you try to find those posts, you get the same error message that you get when you try to find posts by elliott. Why? Because he was banned. This is the only way that he can communicate with us. I feel sorry for him...

He must be like...the Hunchback of Lebanon, TN or something! Maybe he's like...using the change of his birthdate to like encode a secret message to us that we like really need to know!

Brian Eno, if you can read this, CAN YOU TELL US WHEN THE FEATURES WILL BE RELEASING SOME NEW STUDIO MATERIAL???

I can say I met the one and only BrianEno2 at the Atlanta show. I even captured him on video. I'm going to get that up soon.

Upon thinking about this, and examining your police work Ms. Carroll, I think there are some fishy things that need to be examined.

First, this person joined on June 6, 2001. This should not be possible since the site was begun around 5/20/01, and then was not officially launched until the fall--I think around Septenber. How could this person join a message board not open to the public?

Second, the only banned member is elliott, whose profile page cannot even be accessed. How could he add an avatar and change his birthday if he were banned?

Third, all members who have actually posted have listed on their page the percentage of posts they've done in the main forum they've used. His profile page lists 6 posts, but it does not say which forum.

Fourth, I have no life because I sat and thought about this. Actually, I'm doing it to put off grading papers.

This is a mystery for the one and only Michael, our administrator and mystery solver.

I'm not so sure that that's a good idea, Brian. He doesn't want an image of himself on the internet.


It is quite possible that BrianEno was on the MB well before it was "officially" launched. Several people were. In fact, the site was not launched to the general public until November. But it was possible to access the site (and MB) before the launch of the site, by adding something, like "/index" to the end of "www.thefeatures.com". This was for the purpose of testing the site. So while the general public was getting that "www.thefeatures.com - Coming Soon!" page, others were actually already on the site. Only certain well-connected people knew this, and BrianEno is certainly well-connected.

As for your other points, the only explanation that I can come up with is that BrianEno joined and was banned so long ago that his information doesn't play by the same "rules" as the rest of us (like elliott).

Heh, Jamie, I was going to play with the video to ensure the identify of Brianeno was still in doubt. Since the cat's out of the bag I probably won't do that now, but yeah he wasn't too wild about me videoing him so I wasn't planning on blowing his cover.

The evening that captured BrianEno on tape (along with the identies of some other board members who want to remain secret) was a most bizarre one. Not that you shouldn't expect oddities from Rollum or Roger, but there were plenty of things going down out back of the Echo Lounge. Let's say it features a police helicopter, meter-reading, alcohol and other stuff. Coming soon to a video near you...
