TOPIC: Have you ever noticed...

I have begun to notice times when the number of guests on the board will change from 2-3 to 12-14 in a matter of minutes. I am sure that it is nothing, but I often wonder if these large groups of record label analysts pile on in herds to read the messageboard. I've noticed this trend more and more since SXSW. I was just wondering if anyone else has thought the same thing.

I haven't thought that but I have noticed that many times the guests outnumber the members by far. But when I click Online List or whatever every single one of them is always looking at board index rather then reading posts. Everytime.

Glad to have you, Dr. Woman. Post a lot.

I doubt that it's industry officials prying into this little fanbase. I think it's a couple of things...members getting ready to log in or lurkers. When it's really high, I've wondered if someone's server creates a new guest registry every time they change screens on the board. I think there are plenty who don't read this board by now, however.

I think it reached an all-time high some recent nite with like 34 freakin guests. That couldn't possibly be just lurkers.
Why would you do that?

Is that what made the new record? All the guests? Thats sad if there wasnt even a message board member on when it hit the new record.

You know it could have been the band members and their friends from oxford. If it's as boring of a place as it sounds, this message board might have been a real fun place for them smile.gif

We really must get to the bottom of this. I'll be Inspector Gadget and Buckley can be a female Sherlock Holmes. I have the exact pipe if you want it Buckley.

Anyway, something is amiss.

I'm sure its nothing important. Its probably just several little things going on at once like YDDD said.

But hey, play detective if you wish. What sort of gadgets would you use to solve this little mystery?

My go-go gadget copter. In this particular witch hunt, the role of Claw will be portrayed by YDDD. You can be his cat. On second thought, Buckley can be the clever little girl that worked with Inspector Gadget. I never liked Claw and I still don't like cats, so you both better watch out.

I can be Penny (is that her name?), but I'll take the pipe, too. Penny would be cooler with a pipe anyways. They gave her a dog instead.

Actually, we could go back to rd's original idea of me being the female sherlock holmes, and combine that with me being Penny, and give me a coke addiction...along with a dog and a pipe.

It could be that other people are dorky like me & when bored in a public-use computer area, like to reprogram the home page to thefeatures.com. I didn't even post in the "fandom" discussion because my fanaticism is totally & embarassingly out of control. But this is just an example of how wide-reaching it can be.

Why would someone log all of the computers in the lab onto the Features mb tonight? Too much free time and a lack of more exciting ideas? A combination of both probably.
