I almost put this in the "Top Five" category, but was way too excited about finding what I once thought was lost. Frankenberry- available at Wal-Mart Supercenters and packed with 9 essential vitamins. This was one of my favorite cereals and then it dissappeared and I forgot about it. Booberry is also there along, of course, with the abundant Count Chocula. I'm not a picky eater and have a hard time picking favorites, but here's some others I enjoy eating, how about you?

Mueslix
Lucky Charms
Oreo Cereal
Fruity Pebbles
or the old-fashioned, time-tested Rice Crispies with bananas and sugar

I used to be addicted to Reese's Puffs. I also love Fruity Pebbles, Corn Pops, Fruit Loops, and Rasin Bran Crunch.

Lucky charms is good but its gross if you dont get enough marshmellos in one bite.

The deal in my house was that we could only have cereals which had 2 proteins listed in the nutritional info. How has everyone left of Reese's Puffs? It doesn't have the nostalgia, but it's great nonetheless.

I was going to say how much I love Reese's Puffs. They have zero nutritional value but are delicious.

I ate Cinnamon Toast Crunch this morning. With cereals, I usually get burned out on a certain one very quickly and don't want to eat it again. I've done this with Cocoa Pebbles, Froot Loops, Cookie Crisp, Golden Grahams, and French Toast Crunch. I usually eat either chocolate cake or fudge pop tarts for breakfast.

And what was the deal with the Trix rabbit? Did he have scabes or something, because I cannot discern any logical reason for him to not be able to eat his own dad-gum cereal! I always said that if I ever met the Trix rabbit, I would give him some of my cereal.

And does Lucky Charms make anyone else's mouth taste funny and cause them to burp?

This was a wonderful cereal. My favorite in middle-high school.

Sometimes I wish I could still eat cereal - breakfast in general. Now I just O.D. on coffee and skip the rest.

Does anyone besides me like Grapenuts? I know - probably not. But I always thought it rocked - covered with sugar, of course.

Yes, Grapenuts'n'sugar all soggy. Mmmmm.

By the way, I forgot all about Life cereal. That would definitely go in my "un-Sweet" top 5.

I don't eat breakfast. I don't usually get hungry until I've been up for 2 or 3 hours. I have taken to eating a Nutri-Grain bar as a mid-morning snack, though.

Yes, this is exactly what I do.

I hate not being able to eat the way I did when I was in high school - big bowl of cereal in the morning, big bowl of ice cream before bed. Now both of these would make me feel ill.

Ahh, the memories that are associated with that name.... Boo Berry.....Booooooo Berry...

It was my favorite cereal when I was a wee one, and there was a long time that I was greatly saddened by its disappearance. I remember the night of my high school graduation when all of the other grad went to various parties where they could get drunk and have lustful intercourse with each other, my best friend and I decided to avoid the stereotypical events. Instead we went on a search for Boo Berry.. and we found it, too, at a grocery store about 2 hours away from home.

Sadly, we discovered it in our Wal-Mart like two weeks after that...

This is one of my favorite things about living in the apartment and buying my own groceries... no soda around. I don't have it so I don't drink it. I just buy alot of juice (100% juice only) and everyone's better off. Hmm... this reminds me of something I need to do in another thread.

I love soda, but I hate just having it there all the time.

I don't really like soda. I mean, I'll drink it if its there but I'd much rather have juice or tea. Soda just fills you up so fast and it makes me feel fat. But when I do wanna hoarde my lunch money, I'll just buy a can of Dr. Pepper and that always seems to fill me up.

My long-time love for Reese's, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and Lucky Charms has been thwarted for the last year or so. I only buy the generic version of Frosted Flakes.

Isn't the packaging for the generic stuff great? It tries to look just enough like the product it's imitating...

i guess if i had to pick my favorites, i'd have to say:

1) Fruity Pebbles
2) Special K--without sugar (i don't know why, it's just good)
3) Rice Krispies with 2 spoonfulls of sugar...and then it sinks to the bottom and you can scoop it up with your spoon...mmm
4) Kix--but for some reason, they were only good over at my friends house where i would down 3 bowls for breakfast
5) Honey Bunches of Oats with Almonds

i tried frankenberry today for the first time, and i liked it VERY much...it reminded me of Berry Kix

not very exciting, i know, but honestly i prefer a huge breakfast with eggs, cinnamon toast, bacon, milk, and sausage patties over anything.

We didn't have "soda" either. We had coke.

Kix was put on the "unsweet" list. I believe that the advertisers would resent that. Their whole campaign ad revolved around kix being both wholesome and sweet. However, I agree that they were indeed not that sweet. The milk was sweeter than the kix.

I think blueberry morning is pretty damn good for a healthy cereal. Anyone else tried it.

I too loved going to my grandparents' house for the cereal. I wasn't allowed sweet cereal either or "junk" as my mom called it. Little did my mother know that in recent studies, pretty much any cereal (yes even fruit pebbles and the like) is the healthiest breakfast item one can eat (in comparison to other commonly eaten things, eggs, bacon, toast, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, etc. Not in comparison to a soy enema with a powerbar and many a grapefruit.)

I don't drink soda hardly at all. I think I've had soda like 5 times since September. It started as a way to save money, it's cheaper to buy one water bottle and keep refilling it from the tap than to buy lots of coke. Then once you stop drinking soda, it is way too sweet and fizzy. Plus I hear it's really really bad for your teeth.

(Plus I like the reference to the lunch money that talked about in the top 5 lists post.)

that's me with my daughters. it's all milk and water, no sodas and no juice (except the occasional grapefruit juice). my oldest gets candy (mainly chocolate) maybe once a week. both of my daughters never had refined sugar until their first birthdays. (sugar is toxic and it's completely pointless to give it to children. you don't know how many parents i've wanted to kill for shoving candy in their kids' mouths and then "disciplining" them for acting wild and crazy. of course they're going to act like that, they've got a shit load of sugar running them. ok, i'm finished.)
anyway, i usually have tons of cereal at home. (and i get alot of seinfield jokes because of it.)
the top 5 most popular at my house:
1. rice crispies (no sugar)
2. cheerios
3. puffed wheat
4. honeycombs
5. frosted mini wheat
but breakfast usually consists of bacon, eggs, and wheat toast.

anyway, i grew up in a screwed up household where all we had was a shit load of little debbie snack cakes, peanut butter, maybe some tv dinners, about 7 different kinds of soda, and lots of fast food (probably at least 5 days a week.) it sucked.

I actually did better on the no sodas thing when I was a teenager. Now I seem to have acquired a taste for them again - wish I hadn't. Still, it is a real challenge to drink more than one a day, not that it's completely bad if you do (Digsy).

Cereal used to be much more enjoyable when the milk didn't make my stomach feel like shit. Now I just eat granola with vanilla yogurt, which strangely doesn't have quite the same effect and is much more delicious.

why wont you give them juice? bc of the sugar? i think you can get organic orange and apple juice that doesn't have a lot in it. I don't live in nashville so i don't know if there is a co-op around or anything.

I had the weirdest dream last night - I actually dreamt I was buying cereal. Like I was walking the aisles, trying to decide on which cereal I wanted. Usually I'm a Raisin Bran / Frosted Wheat kind of guy, but I really wanted something sweeter, so I went with some Captain Crunchberry or something instead. My dreams suck.

I always liked Cookie Crisp as a child. Unfortunately, I never eat cereal anymore (for no real reason). I remember one time when I was 3 or 4, Cookie Crisp came with a fortune cookie made out of Cookie Crisp. It was really cool and it's an event that I cannot seem to forget.
