Any recommendations from anyone about online resources for getting a band together? I'm in the market to throw together a nice 5 piece power=pop outfit. I have a back catalog of songs that need a home, and well, my trusty ole' guitar and I just can't seem to get off the ground on our own (not that we've tried. I only sing in the shower). I'll probably post the info on livejournal and place links here and there, like on makeoutclub and other nifty places. Hopefully things will move in the right direction and the future "We" can come up something worthwhile.

No, don't form a band with people you meet on the internet. Form it with people from real life. I don't know what to tell you, other than keep playing your songs for people, and keep letting people you meet know that you want to start a band.
Relevant: Prince, PT Anderson, Punk, Post-Punk, Purple, Party of Five, Peter Swanson, Peter Gabriel-led Genesis, "Peter Panic", Paul's Boutique, Potential Energy, Every Features MB member but me.

I thought about that, but then again, I could spend forever trying to find the right people. It's like the whole thing of chance in hooking up with a girl. you can do the bar and club thing and hope something clicks, or you can put up an ad and say, "Hey, this is me." Chances are you won't waste your time meeting people that you don't click with. I'm looking for something fairly specific in getting a band together. I'm hoping to put up a website at some point.
