TOPIC: I'm such a lucky bastard

So I'm going to be the 1st assistant cameraman on the upcoming Verve Pipe music video, to be shot in HD. I've known and been stoked about this for awhile, and in addition to the band, the lead singers for Toad the Wet Sprocket and Five for Fighting are going to be there, with the potential for other Chicago area celebrities. But none of this is what is exciting.

We have Helicopter shots planned. So, since I'm always with the camera, and pulling focus, I get to ride in the Helicopter, moving at unbelieveable speeds over lake Michigan, towards the Chicago skyline! And when its all over, it'll only be a few days til more Features concerts!

As of the latter half of October I am officially the luckiest bastard on Earth.

Sorry, I had to tell someone about the excitement.

They were dropped from their label. Columbia is looking at them now. When dropped, two members left, at least one of them came back when they heard about our video. Hopefully it gets played on VH1. All proceeds from the video go to the make a wish foundation, so maybe, I dunno. All I know is I'm in a helicopter with a camera, and I'm sooooo pumped.

I'm "in the business" just to the extent that I'm majoring in film at school and working every weekend on student shoots, thus building experience (and connections) that has afforded me this opportunity. That and I'm writing several screenplays (including a failed script called "Thursday" with imagery taken from Features songs), one of which I'm going to make next year.

Yeah, I don't like Verve Pipe, Five for Fighting, or Toad the Wet Sprocket much at all, but it'll be a blast to be there regardless.

Ah, struggling with screenplays. I've written probably 6 scripts and have about a dozen others in various stages of disrepair. I haven't really written much, besides website stuff, in years. Hope to get back to it soon.

Who knew there were so many screenwriters on this board? Basically writing is the only thing that I do with any amount of passion (this board doesn't show it, I can guarantee) and I hope to make a career out of it in television (everyone take pity on my soul). But I'm glad for you Wiyum, to be getting out there in the work force and gaining experience. The world is your oyster!

What? They do? Sweet mother of monkeys one would think that The Little Mermaid would have taught me better than this. I mean, I saw it in the theater and I own it on VHS. Ariel is pretty hot but....okay this is going off in a completely different direction.

Yup...I wanna work in TV all right...

Oh I'm not intelligent enough nor informed enough about news to write for it. My main interest is the hour long drama/comedy/comic bookish thing. I'm all for some action that makes you laugh and cry at the same time! I have four seasons in my head just waiting to come out (of course the Rutherford Courier wrote that quote as "I have four seasons in my head and I'm just waiting to come out"...oh high school...).
