TOPIC: Interpol in Athens, GA
Posted  Thursday, February 20, 2003 at 12:52 PM

Some friends and I are planning on making the trip to Athens to see Interpol on Sat., March 1 at the 40 Watt. The only problem that I have encountered is the purchasing of tickets. I know that some of you also plan on going. I am wondering if you have gotten tickets yet? I am skeptical of making the trip without tickets, because I am sure that it will sell out. The biggest problem so far is that the 40 Watt itself is not selling tickets. They are instead being sold through a couple of local record shops that do not happen to have websites. Any advice? I guess I could call the 40 Watt and get the numbers of those local places. OK, nevermind all of this. That is what I shall do. Thanks anyway.

Well I have the hook up because my sister lives in Atlanta and she bought tickets at Lo Yo Yo's (the best record store I've ever seen). I know that the 40 Watt website sucks. I can give you the guy from Lo Yo Yo's email address and I'm sure he would be willing to work something out. He is very nice. You could aslo try School Kids. Let me know how it works out. It looks like there will be quite a few Nashville people at the show...

The only thing I can tell you is to call the 40 watt and ask if you can pay with a credit card and put your tickets on "will call". If not that I can give you the guy from Lo Yo Yo's email address and I'm sure he would be willing to work something out. He is very nice. Let me know how it works out. Thank you very much for the assistance. It is much appreciated.

I really enjoyed the show. They pretty much played Turn on the Bright Lights along with Specialist and a new song which was very nice. The best part of the show was Carlos. I absolutely adore him. He actually fixed his hair backstage before he played the encore. I saw other non-board member Features fans at the show too.... a very fun night in my opinion. smile.gif

You should go to at least one of the three remaining "non-sold out" shows, because The Raveonettes will be opening on the rest of the American tour. Who opened in Athens?

The band was called the mercury program and they weren't too bad.

the mercury program sucked. i hate jam bands. i remembered almost falling asleep to them at the red rose, so one of the members and i talked about how great bingham is for a minute before i ran off.

daniel was told they should play nashville. later daniel asked paul what he thought about nashville and paul said 'fuck nashville.' he changed his view about that after finding out we were from nashville.

we talked about the features. i was wearing a pin and for a while, when i was drunk and refused to tell eric my name i was called 'the features.' (for example: "i need to go make the features another drink." and "i'm ___ and this is the features.") anyway, they're interested in checking out the features now.

wow, then you must've done something right! but wouldn't it have made more sense for them to check you out while you were still in their company?...

fuck nashville? fuck interpol fucking nashville (decidedly NOT just "fuck interpol.")

I'd be happy if they dug the Features and passed em on to the chaps at Matador.
