Oh SHIT! I missed Richard Gere? He's the most excellent actor EVER.

Interpol was in fact on, and I stayed up all the way til 12:30 as part of my research into their music. The lead singer is cute (which may have influenced my enjoyment of them, since I haven't previously liked their music) and looks shockingly young & innocent (my old roommate always said I was a pedophile). They were all slicked up and solemn looking, but I can appreciate some theatricality in a rock band. They played "PDA" and did a good job. They probably played something else later, but I went to sleep.

i watched it and was not impressed with them. however dv just hooked me up with turn on the bright lights so i guess i'll give it a shot. the thing is i didn't really care for joy division when they came around the first time.
You know you have problems, with both money and alcohol, when you find yourself shoving beers down your pants outside a Features show.

I liked what I heard musically from them but I just couldn't warm over to the singer's voice. Perhaps it sounds differently on the CD which I'll have to find some samples of.

I agree, although the guitars were pretty boring to me. His voice is not so prominent on the studio recordings, so perhaps that's an improvement?

we are twins.

my friends always tease me about the "type" (because they recently informed me i have a "type.") of guys i go for and how they all look 16.

i love interpol. (and not just because they write songs about me.) (and not just because they're hot. very, very hot.)

the drummer of john wilkes booze (who opened for character last week) looks like the lead singer of interpol.

I think they are one of the best bands to come around in a while. Paul's voice sucks you into the music. Not necessarily an amazing record, but I believe the potential is overwhelming.
However, I didn't think they were that good on Letterman. Actually, I thought they sucked. I agree with Lauren that the guitars sounded like shit.
But, a friend of mine saw them in Atlanta and said it was one of the best shows he has ever seen...and he has seen a lot of really good shows. TV rarely does justice to a band.

OK after having listened to a few of the tracks off the record I must say I'm quite impressed. I love the guitars, however you describe that sound they have.

Yeah, when I said they were "good", it was in the context of me previously disliking them. Good thing I still don't love them since March 1 is my wedding day smile.gif

haha Sina- my old roommate could pick out the one boy in a crowd that I would like EVERY TIME without fail. So predictable.
