TOPIC: iPOD or Dell DJ

I'm thinking about ditching the ole MD player and buying an MP3 player. I've pretty much narrowed it down to an iPOD or a Dell DJ. Does anyone have any valuable insight or first-hand knowledge?

My iPod changed my life.

The Dell DJ is a frustrating mess.

Two true statements.

iPod, definitely. My friend has a Dell DJ and I've used it a few times...not good. It has a weird browser and it's just clunky. You can record bad audio with it, which is an interesting feature, but practically useless since you could get the same results with a tape recorder...

I'll add that no peice of consumer electronics I've ever encountered is as much a pleasure to use as the iPod. The entire iPod experience, from opening its packaging onwards, is an absolute joy. Honestly, you can't go wrong, and it is worth the extra money.

And AAC is a vastly superior format and iTunes a vastly superior jukebox program to sync with.

I don't know what kind of formatting the Dell DJ has, but I do know that you can format MP3s to your iPod, but you can't format iTunes to an MP3 player.

Wait, what? iTunes is an MP3 player. (And AAC player, WAV player, M4A player, etc.)

I think he's saying that iPod and iTunes will support your MP3s, but a Dell DJ wouldn't support iTunes. In other words, if you love the iTunes (and the AACs, I'll add), the iPod is the only game in your town.
