this is fairly old news, but i just cannot contain my excitement any longer. i need to share.

---Hip discount retailer Target announced today new partnership with New York-based fashion designer Isaac Mizrahi.

Mizrahi, one of the pillars of the New York fashion scene will create an exclusive collection of classically designed fashion sportswear and accessories for the style-conscious woman. The collection, named Isaac Mizrahi for Target, will be available exclusively in all Target stores nationwide in August 2003.

Reinterpreting key elements of his trademark style, Mizrahi has created a head-to-toe collection of sportswear for the Target guest that includes shoes, handbags, eyewear, hats and gloves. Prices will range from $9.99 for woven tops to $69.99 for outerwear.

Known for his magnetic persona and witty style, Mizrahi has won four Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) awards. Exploding onto the fashion scene in the late 1980s, Mizrahi adopted a groundbreaking approach to womenswear and came to redefine luxury. He is famous for his use of color and the clean, flattering lines of his designs. Mizrahi is now the host of his own television show and will be featured in the advertising and marketing campaign for this new collection.

"This new collection will offer affordable luxury for every woman, everywhere," said designer Mizrahi. "My clothes have always celebrated the style of American women of all ages and all walks of life. Now, through my partnership with Target, I can offer my designs to more women than ever before at accessible prices."

With Mizrahi, Target, known for its design partners such as renowned architect Michael Graves, celebrity make-up artist Sonia Kashuk, and designers Liz Lange and Mossimo Giannulli, will broaden its appeal as a shopping destination for fashionable, price-conscious women.

"Isaac Mizrahi's personality, creativity and design sensibility are a perfect match for Target," said Trish Adams, senior vice president, Target Stores. "Our partnership with him addresses the lifestyle needs of today's modern women and his collection will complement our fashion assortment of women's ready-to-wear, shoes and accessories." ---

I just bought the pink Mossimo shorts and tank top sleep clothes from Target. I think I looked rather cute in them.

For all of you Isaac fans, Oxygen is having a whole week devoted to him. It features new episodes if I remember correctly.

And I am definately excited about his partnership with Target...

i love target clothes and stand by them completely. despite being a large corporate company they must have something good going on. this is not the first high profile designer they have partnered with.

okay. so i went to target yesterday, and i saw the new stuff. i must say that i dislike almost all of the isaac clothes. it is very mom-ish [no offense to any moms... it just looks like stuff that my mom would wear]. there was a red and white striped oxford that i thought hard about, and some kind of cool loafers, but other than that, very disappointing.

as for the todd oldham stuff, its cool. im not really digging his colors this year, though. its a lot of the same stuff, just re-done in magenta and a boring blue. there was a 2-tone wood coffee table that i liked, but couldnt find a price on it. i never liked his little square light boxes with the beer mug and martini glass designs, and those are back. he has some cool message boards, though. nothing im really interested in investing in, though.

sorry to everyone like me who got their hopes up and dont like the new lines. it sucks.

i like the todd oldham stuff pretty well, too. i'm not sure if i've seen everything yet though. i saw the pink swell stuff. i think that a lot of the designs are cute, but it's just a little too pink for my liking. i do, however, like it better than that blue/purple/green stuff. those colors are just odd. basically i just like select items from the lines and not the lines as a whole. i really really like those new area rugs though. and i haven't got a chance to look at all the furniture yet. and the martini designed stuff is a plus with me.

I'm a fan of several of the items in the Home Room line. I've made a couple of table purchases since they're on sale now. Some of the stuff's a little trendy for me, but a lot of it's really cute. I got some Swell sheets, too, and they're really nice and soft. I want the microfiber coverlett, but I'm waiting for it to go on sale. I love Target.

I was not impressed with the Isaac Mizrahi line.

Well, this is a bit of a disappointment. However, I am rather low on finances right now, so I guess it means less temptation.

i agree

i only like two items from this new collection. both of which are for my oldest daughter. i prefer the old stuff. i have a warm place in my house for primary colours.

and though i was in target for well over an hour, i forgot to check out the mizrahi stuff.
