Sorry to be so behind the curve here, but I've just become consumed by the zelda game... I remember there was a previous thread regarding it, but I couldn't find it.

I can't believe this thing... it won't let go... does it get any easier to put down? How long will it last?

In all honesty, simply the greatest game I've played in years.

What a coincidence... I just finished the game on Monday night. I absolutely loved it. I thought the game's visual style was brilliant! I can't wait for the sequel.

i finished it about a month ago. it took m 2-3 months to get thru it. i absoltely loved it. really good game. the most interesting of the bunch. i even heard there are already plans for another. my roomate beat it but said he didn't like it. he felt it ws just one big wild goose chase......i oved it. buy the strategy guide. it really helped in a few spots. or you can be hard core and just play it without it.
We have about 1500 songs.....all of them good!

i think ill straddle the fence here and say that i love both a lot. ive been addicted to animal crossing lately, and just got my house renovation this morning! i also just figured out that when you write letters you have to use correct grammar. i pissed off a few neighbors by just writing things like, "WUT UP!!!!!!! HOV!" and "ROC come chill wit me." they were not impressed. hooba actually got this awesome nes game [by cheating, i might add] called wario something... its organizational like tetris and about as addictive as tetris too. us girls like organizational games. and i especially like this trend of games that allow you to pick your outfit.

i've never played any of the sims games, but i think that'll be my next purchase after i tire of animal crossing. my town is called munkers & it's pretty rad. my favorite part thus far is when i shook a tree & got stung by bees.
i'm scared to delve into zelda.

you really shouldnt be scared of zelda. it is actually pretty easy, and they teach you to do everything as you do it. its very free, and you [i] can spend hours just exploring. i think its comparable to animal crossing in how independent you are, except, you can try to beat gannon if you so desire. or you can work for a while and play for a while. the best of both worlds.

I'm having a hard time getting into this game. I've watched Keith and my webmaster play it for countless hours and have yet to really get an appreciation for it.

Of course, watching the dog sing will always have me coming back for more. I can't get enough of K.K.!

Animal Crossing and Zelda are both awesome. I would only recommend Zelda if you are a pretty hardcore gamer and are willing to put a lot of time into it. It's addictive and will take a good 25-30 hours of playing to beat. Animal Crossing is more leisurely and you can pretty much play as much or little as you want and still have fun. I'm currently working on my second town (Idaho), so I can go back and forth to find the best price for turnips (wow, I didn't quite realize how nerdy I was until I just typed that sentence).
I TOTALLY AGREE!

Keith, you are destined to rock. Never forget this.

you should try dark cloud. you get to create a town AND play a zelda-type adventure.

Unless your job leaves you with alot of free time AND you don't get to see ELT very much, I'd have to recommend avoiding it. Unless you and ELT can play together or something. All I know is I've yet top play a session that lasts less than 3 hours, and even then I have trouble putting it down, and my friends are upset with me over it (largely because they had the free time to finish the game during the school year).

But it IS amazing. MUCH better than Ocarina of Time thus far, if I may be so bold. The boast is much better than the horse, and the cartoony style is more than perfect.

i think you've pegged why i'm scared -i really can't see myself devoting that much time to it. whereas with animal crossing, i can play for 30-60 minutes a day and everything is fine and dandy.
plus, i just learned how to knit last monday and i need to perfect my skills.

Animal Crossing intrigues me. It may be the next game to which I sell my soul. Since I finished Zelda, I'm looking to fill the void.
