TOPIC: Lurkers...

This has been covered vaguely, but I want make it a little more official. Being a recovering lurker, I realize it is hard to actually start posting, just because there are so many people here that know each other. It can be a tad bit intimidating. To be honest, I still "lurk" more than I actually post. I'll read messages, think of something to add and just not do it. So this is a call to arms. If you read this board semi-regularly, but don't really participate actively, make yourself known now. I enjoy the semblance of a community we have going here, but I think new blood is grand. So this goes out to all you "read-only" or very occassional posters, tell us about yourself, tell us about how you discovered The Features, for christ's sake, just say hello. I for one will try to not be my normal personality-less asshole, and attempt to make you welcome.

I apologize for the length and out of the blue nature of this post, but I've been up all night studying. Carry on.

Hmm I don't think I was ever a lurker. I think I posted right away and then got sucked in. I was intimidated for a really long time though and I'd take a lot of stuff seriously but then I realized that 98% of the time everyone was joking or being sarcastic.

I'm also gonna apoligize now for having Message Board ADD. I really have difficulty staying on topic. See, like now.

Yes, everyone needs to come on out. I also don't think I was ever a true lurker. I just forgot about the board between when I registered March 9th and the DItD show.

I really want to hear from TacoPussy.

I was a lurker for quite a while, I believe. I figured anything I had to say would be ignored by others since I was a new member.

The present lurkers should know though that their posts will not be ignored... biggrin.gif ...instead, their posts will be criticized and their words will be warped by older message board members so that they will feel like poo. wink.gif cool.gif
But what will happen to the boy when the circus comes to town?

i was a "lurker" for several months. my first features show was back in september and from then on i was hooked. i'd have to say that it is quite intimidating joining this message board. i know alot of people on it but couldn't find the nerve to post. maybe i was scared of sounding stupid, oh well. i just decided to join this month and still don't post that much. its not that i'm shy, i just don't have much to say... ph34r.gif

Only if we don't deem them cool. That only happens about 92% of the time. Who wants to test their luck?

By the way, I'm kidding. I would not suggest that anyone post who doesn't have a good sense of humor and can't detect sarcasm. Oh, and I suppose it helps if you love The Features (just not too much).

I think it's funny that in the 'Lurkers' thread, if you add up the total number of posts of those above me, you get 3597 posts (as of this writing).

I believe it was poet extraordinaire Alanis Morissette who said, "Isn't it ironic? Don't you think?"
"Sugar, Mr. Poon?"
"No, never, never... thank you."

no, alanis. It's unfortunate.
