Tuesday was my 4th trip to Atlanta this year to see the wonderful Modest Mouse. this was an excellent performance at the wonderful Variety Playhouse in the Little Five-Points disctrict. the drive was certainly worth it. the band piled through a 90 minute set filled with lots of favorites and lots of new songs. (there were many i didn't know). i would just like to say that this band breaks more strings than Matt Pelham. killer show.

does anyone else have any thoughts on Modest Mouse? my only disapointment was that they did not play Tiny Cities Made of Ashes.
We have about 1500 songs.....all of them good!

one of my friends told me about them a few months ago, and he kept telling me, "dude you've gotta here this band Mighty Mouse". He told me to look through his cd case for them and I was like it's not here. so then I fugured out that they were called modest mouse. kind of a pointless story, but what I've heard of them is really good, I like that song that goes like "the universe is just like the earth, if you go far enought you'll end up where you were"

i like modest mouse. i'm not a super hardcore fan who owns every album or anything, but i like them a lot. not a lot of people seem to talk about them, so i figure that they're considered "unhip" or something. i never know about these things. i wanted to see them when they played louisville last fall, but it was the first day of school. but i'm glad you had a fun time, ghostflower. "custom concern" is one of my favorites. and i now love "space travel is boring," even though it was my least favorite song for a while.

I love me some modest mouse. I got into them after Radiohead and the Beta Band and it was almost a seamless transition for me. I don't have a whole lot of their stuff, but what I do have is great.

I'm not familiar with them, but I think some friends once told me they suck and I'm not allowed to like them, so I haven't pursued it.

Good one, but in my opinion no one I've heard holds a candle to DCFC.

I was vaguely interested in them since they were very big when I lived in Portland. So, I went to see them when the played in Nashville in 2000. The show was so bad I actually left early, and I rarely do that. I was one of maybe 4 females there, and it just seemed like this massive macho fest, led by the band & their annoying attitudes. So, I have enjoyed some of their songs, but I'll not go see them again. I'm glad your experience was better than mine.
