I like any kind of compliment....I know I'm not hot(t), so hearing I'm cute every now and then is nice.

I used to hate it when my mom would call me cute. I made her say that I was handsome, because I thought that cute only applied to girls and babies. I was about five. I'm ok with cute now.

I think the girl with the features pin (#4) is the only one who has that "cute" look about her. The rest are all very attractive. I can see why #1 has been termed most "hott," but #2 and #3 both have real sex appeal.

i don't mind being called cute. i could see how that would upset guys. especially little ones. but i would sort of rather be cute than hot. kind of like id rather date a guy who was cute vs hot. insurance, maybe?

I totally agree. I've never been called hot before, but cute quite often (oddly enough). To me, what people would call a cute girl is my hott girl, but I would probably never use the term 'hott.'

I don't use it much, but I recently found out that, in addition to meaning warm, angry, or attractive, "hot" (or "hott") can also mean you're a hoe. I used it one day in conversation with my 5th period and they were like, "Uh, that means you a hoe...you know, like you getting a lot of sex." I thought that was funny. So, yeah, any of those girls might be hot...or not.

i've never been "cute." maybe when i was little, but others would use the word "beautiful" rather than "cute."

even though i was the youngest in my class, while growing up i was always the older looking, more mature, mysterious one. the crush of many boys.

then i hit jr. high/ highschool and used my powers for evil.

I gotta go with Digsy on this one. I'm much more attracted to "cute" girls than "hott" girls. I guess it might say something about my own self-confidence, but I've had too many bad experiences talking to "hott" girls. To me, "hott" means a girl is really attractive and she knows it and is really self-centered (you know, like Sina ). "Cute" on the other hand means attractive in an unassuming, sometimes hard-to-define way. I feel much more comfortable dating cute girls. Like I said, maybe it means I don't feel worthy of hott girls (you know, like RD ).

For the record, I think #4 is the cutest. (By the way, she posts here) Also, I would say that MissSeptember is indeed very cute.

I agree, my friend. I get along much better with cute girls than hott girls. I find that of the cute girls and hott girls I've associated with, the cute ones are normally nicer and much more fun to be around. But that's just my personality, really. Plus, the one hott girl I did date broke my heart.

Really, I'll say that the determination between "hot" and "cute" is an instantaneous decision made in my head when I first see someone. I like cute girls moreso than hot girls.

Cute girls tend to have a more "timeless" quality than hot girls. I think that a hot girl may be hot right now, but that a cute girl can remain so forever. I know plenty of cute senior citizens, but by no means do I know any hot senior citizens. Same goes for babies. I associate "hot" with lustful thoughts, which (of course) do not apply to babies and senior citizens.

Beautiful can apply to hot or cute, hence the over-lapping that Keith already spoke about.

See, for me, "hot" is strictly about aesthetics. It just means that a girl is irresistibly attractive (physically). It has nothing to do with her character or personality at all.

I'll also add this: if a woman is "hot," I know it instantly; it's just undeniable. But that's not true for "cute." Sometimes it takes several times of seeing someone to realize that they are "cute."

It could be my numerous run-ins with girls that I thought were "hot". They are no good...no good at all. I guess I just decided that cute was a better route for me.

There's nothing wrong with being hot, though. It's just a perception-based thing. They all come off as pretentious to me and I've grown to avoid them. I like more level-ego'd girls. Maybe the unpretentious pretty girls are considered "beautiful" or "cute" by me and the pretentious ones are "hot". I apologize for hurting anyone's heads with this confusing talk.
