interesting... The Verve == damn good. I've always found it humorous how The Verve and Verve Pipe broke at relatively the same time... must be something about that word...

Upon realizing that my Verve collection was shabby, I found that most users of Kazaa have a hard time distinguishing between those two bands... hehe..
oh well, Blur has always rocked IMHO, and I'm somewhat hoping that Tong stays on for an album or something because I'll probably never get the chance to see it live. *shrugs*

I mean...I love the Verve and all, but...I just don't think that this is a good fit at all...why couldn't they have gotten Johnny Marr?

He's too busy with his new project, "The Healers."

i'll refrain from passing judgement until i hear the new stuff. graham wasn't exactly interesting live. he just stood there and concentrated on his pedals and playing. damon is the most energetic frontman i've ever seen. he carries the live shows.

i rather agree, damon. my favorite johnny marr project (well, apart from the smiths, of course) is definitely the the. so under-rated.

Honestly, I find about 80% of the Brit rock I've heard to be rather dull. It seems to come along with the territory. I have nothing to back this up.

my favorite post-smiths Marr project is the work he did for the last Talking Heads album "Naked". His guitar work on "Nothing but Flowers" is absolutely beautiful.

Hmmm...those song titles sound like they should be on a new Guided by Voices album. I haven't given up hope yet, though I am increasingly skeptical of this new Blur album. Not much longer to wait...

Can I just say that (for the most part) it is a big pet peeve of mine when artists name a song, "________ Song." Even worse is, "The _________ Song." But some of my favorite artists are guilty of this practice.

Do you suppose "On the Way to the Club" is the "white" version of new rap sensation 50 Cent's "In Da Club"? Hmmm...

If it is, then I will actually give Blur a chance! unsure.gif

I just read in Rolling Stone that the Blur "comeback" single ("Out of Time") features a Moroccan orchestra. Damon Albarn said that it sounds like something off of Love's "Forever Changes". Sounds intriguing......
