TOPIC: New Message Board Look

I think this is a good thing. It's inevitable that the shows this fall and the release of a new album will bring new fans to this board. With the growing population, it is a good thing that more specific forums are in place. Thanks for the work, michael and BrianW!!

Yeah, great job, guys! I wonder if we'll be able to start our topics in the correct forums or we'll just keep posting here out of habit.

Impressive! I feel like we're really moving up in the message board world.

And we thought this place was dead. What were we thinking?

I like the new look. I think it will help with all the new fans that are gonna be joining the board.

After spending some time navigating the new message board format, my honest opinion is that I like the old format better. What I liked about it was that it was simple - you only really had to look in 2 or 3 forums, now you have to look in 5 or 6. I'm sorry if I'm being a baby. The reason that I don't go to the Self message board more often is that there are like 23 different forums and it's exhausting and overwhelming to go through them all.

I don't mean to offend and I do appreciate the hard work; I'm just offering my opinion.
Relevant: Prince, PT Anderson, Punk, Post-Punk, Purple, Party of Five, Peter Swanson, Peter Gabriel-led Genesis, "Peter Panic", Paul's Boutique, Potential Energy, Every Features MB member but me.

Yeah, not to be all neo-conservative about it, but I get real confused too with the new ways. I can't remember where & what I've read, despite the helpful icons. I think it might actually be reducing my addiction, though- because now I mostly head for forums I remember being interested in.

Even with the nifty icons you still can't figure out which threads you haven't read Lauren?

I'm normally one to buckle to pressure/opinion but in this case I just can't. I like it this way and this was a co-creation with the management and they seem to like it so things'll stay this way for now. Hopefully with some time you guys will get comfortable with it.

I have to say that it has rejuvenated this board. I think we've gone from about 80 posts a day to 240 or so...so that's a good thing.

It's amazing that you can tell that through a messageboard. I gotta ask, RD, how was she? Did you get your money's worth?

I don't think it could be tied down to post-whore, maybe just whore.

I'd say par for the course. The green was pretty rough and my balls were getting blown around a lot because of the stiff breezes, but I've played worse courses. Still though, nobody sinks a hole-in-one like RD.

Yeah, it's mostly just because I'm dumb. Seriously- I work the night shift and it makes me stoooopid. I'll figure it out someday.

Haaaa- I was just thinking the same thing about how the two threads fit nicely together. It's not a bad way to make sure you stay on the guest list ; )

Is it just me, or is the board running quite a bit slower since the new additions?
