did anyone ever play 'bad dudes' on the nes?

'the president has been kidnapped.....BY NINJAS! are you a bad enough dude to rescue him?'

man, that was all the backstory you needed back then.

i think ninjas or punk rockers kidnapping someone was the premise for most 80's action games. i played bad dudes in the arcade. i remember it involving 2 muscular brothers and a lot of punching.

the thing that made Bad Dudes so cool was the option to fight on top of things, like semi trailers, or on the ground. very innovative at the time.

Anybody remember Basketball for Intelevision? Any basketball game that came out before there was a three point line is relevant.

i remember those stupid cards you had to insert into the control pad. the only intellivision games i had were space hawk, lock & chase, & football. the controller looked like a futuristic telephone at the time. everything in the 80's was meant to look futuristic. like deloreans, those weird electricity balls, and geometric shapes on album covers.

That's because in the 80's, the future was so bright that most of us had to wear shades.

Give me turds over toyah,
or gravy over grits,
or eggs over easy,
or head over heels,
or Tears over fears ..... See I knew I was going somewhere.... I think. Oh yeah '80's - I just got Pylon -'gyrate' on vinyl. Now I can die.

Double Dribble is soooooooo slow. But those 8-bit cheerleaders are hot. Um I mean, you know what I mean.
By the way, it doesn't get better than NINJA GAIDEN.

keith, not acknowledging mega man 2 is a horrible sin. it has the best music of any nes game & the best bosses. however, i will disregard your error because you know how relevant karnov and rygar are. that lovable, cherubic, moustachioed, fire spitting russian & that mysterious warrior with the weird flame whip would whip the hell out of sonic, crash bandicoot, pikachu, starfox, & max payne combined. a good tag-team match would be karnov & rygar vs. fighter hayabusa & the amazon from pro-wrestling. god bless you keith...you've made me get nostalgic.

am i the only one that likes smb2? granted, it wasn't a real mario game, but it was still really cool. mad props to singling out kid niki (radical ninja!). definitely one that needed to be addressed.

Personally, I enjoyed Super Mario World the most. I like to hit Yoshi in the head to make him eat. In the next Mario game (for Gamecube), you'll be able to climb on fences in SMW.

Yeah, and you'll also be able to walk around with a huge wedgie, just like you do most of the time, Tom.

I'm all about Super Mario World and a few RPGs (relevant: Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger, Mario RPG, Warcraft 1 and 2. irrelevant: Illusion of Gaia, just about all of the Final Fantasy games) but I was just speaking of original NES games in my previous lists.

Super Mario 2 is a good game, but you have to put aside your pre-concieved notions of Mario and just accept it as what it is: A pre-existing Japaneese game that was given a face-lift to be turned into a Mario game. But it is fun. Oh, and Mega Man 2 is awesome. And by awesome I mean totally sweet. No other Mega Man game has as many useful weapons. You end up just using your regular gun the whole time in the games after part 2. Wasn't that the point of Mega Man, all the different weapons?

Final Fantasy is cool, from what I've seen.
Relevant: Prince, PT Anderson, Punk, Post-Punk, Purple, Party of Five, Peter Swanson, Peter Gabriel-led Genesis, "Peter Panic", Paul's Boutique, Potential Energy, Every Features MB member but me.

the only sub-par final fantasies were ff1 & ff8. even those are good. chrono trigger is the best rpg ever. i used to lock myself in my room and ignore phone calls when i played good rpgs. lufia was a decent one for the snes.
