THE STROKES HAVE CANCELLED ALL OF THEIR DATES WITH WEEZER!!!!. NO STROKES AT AMSOUTH. NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! This is very disappointing. I just saw it on the Weezer official site. Apparently, Julian cant even leave his house due to his knee injury. Man, this really sucks. Maybe they will come back to Nashville during their October/November tour of the U.S. Man, this really sucks. I hope other board members are as upset about this as I am.

Hi Ray. Didn't you see the Strokes at 328 this past winter? After seeing them in a club, why would it matter if you didn't get to see them at some big amphitheater?

Well it would still be nice to see them again. I did see them at 328 last year. I loved it. Me and some friends even drove to Jackson, MS to see them earlier this year. What can I say, I really love the strokes. I just wanted to see them again. I was really looking forward to seeing them with Weezer.

Eh I knew this would happen. Just call me Mr. Pessimistic (or Mr. Fancypants, not sure which...). I just pray that they give the 45 minutes to Weezer and not Dashboard Consucksional. Is that what they've been doing at the otehr shows?

And I still have weezerfest to enjoy...sigh...

actually, i think weezer plays their normal length set. that's how it was in cleveland. still, i don't think that they give any extra time to dashboard. that would be torture.
We'll miss you Mr. Hooper.

Okay. I like the theory of "if weezer doesn't get the extra time, no one gets the extra time."

And with the sets that the weez have been playing, this concert should still rock. And with the 5th row tickets, it should rock even more.

i'm so completely and utterly heartbroken right now. i don't even know what to say. i was so excited about seeing them at all, let alone 5th row. i got their newsletter the other day and it listed the tentative cities for their next tour. it included memphis, but that is not confirmed or anything. i don't know how i'm gonna pull it all together.... sad.gif

I now know what it feels like, Damon. Hopefully, the strokes will come back in the fall. That way, I can personally take you to your first strokes show. It will be a life changing event.

Oh, and Damon, I got the letter in the mail confirming you as my roomate this year. Just thought I would pass that along.

i dont think its any big deal. i would rather seethe strokes in a small club than in a huge stadium. they were awesome at 328.
We have about 1500 songs.....all of them good!

althoug it is true that the strokes would be cooler in a small venue, having them drop out of a lineup that includes dashboard and sparta sort of takes a lot of the appeal out of the concert.
We'll miss you Mr. Hooper.

yeah, seeing them at a small venue like that would be great. but as someone who missed that great show at 328, i would've been more than happy to see them any way i could get them. but i'm sure weezer will do an amazing show, and all will be well. but as for right now, it is a sad sad day in smyrna, TN.

Here's what you should do:

Listen to the Strokes CD in your car (set CD player on 'random') before you go into the venue. Pause the CD between songs and have a drunk/high friend cuss at you. This will be exactly what you would have heard had the Strokes been playing.

wow, that's almost exactly how my weezer road trip went. nobody was drunk and/or stoned, but the strokes cd and profanity is dead on.

I dont exactly agree with that, jamie. It's the whole idea that I would have been able to actually look at the strokes, and see them rocking out. The Strokes are one million times better live than they are on record. That says a lot, because "it this it" fucking rocks.
