man, it sucks that we missed your band keith. we thought you were headlining. i read the nashville scene and not the rage. when can i see verde again?

how did you get a gig with DC Talk? and where was the black guy? i saw my friend darcy there and i knew it wasn't going to be pretty anymore. christian insta-punks. the singer thought he was shakira for a little while.

i think carligula, rhinestone cowboy, and my friend kim were the only three drinking beer at the end lastnight.

"i thought he was singing 'put your arms around me more'"
"no dude, he's talking about jesus and stuff"
she's just another ho that i met in the hood
i told her i was crunchy black and it was all good

Thanks for trying Sina. The Scene was misleading. And since you asked, you can always find information on www.verde.CC. I believe our next show in town is February 10th at 12th and Porter for the BMI night (the same deal that The Features did a month or two ago).

Sorry for the self-promotion, but someone asked.
I TOTALLY AGREE!

Keith, you are destined to rock. Never forget this.

Yeah, I'm sorry you missed it Sina because it was a good time. I'm glad you grabbed me on my way out, though. I'll take this thread as a chance to give a shout out to all the other lovelies I've gotten to see during this short stay in Nashville: Keith- sorry I didn't get a chance to say hi, but I have an uncalled for aversion to Christian rock, so I had to leave. Carligula- always a pleasure & sorry you weren't with me when I was hanging out with BEN F!! neuboy- a nice surprise to see you & thanks for the ride. smee & elt- I'm glad you liked Adaptation too & thanks for the Joy Division. I like "Dead Souls" a lot & it was a good spooky soundtrack for the snow today.

The only thing that would've made this trip better would be a Features show. Alas...

I'm never gonna pass up the opportunity to rave about my second-favorite local band on my first-favorite local band's messageboard. This show was indeed spectacular. I myself walked in as the first note was being played and fought my way to the front (yeah, I know how much you guys love that). I can't believe I almost missed some of the set considering Keith was hanging out at my place right before the show and I was practically right behind him.

If you haven't seen this band, you must check them out. Hopefully, your chance to see them will be included in the cover charge of the next Features show you go to. Also, buy their EP-- you won't be dissapointed. And look out for the new LP in the future-- it sounds great. Trust me. When have I ever been wrong about music?

Some would call it hanging out. Some would call it stalking...

First, I would like to ask how everyone is catching Ben Folds out and about, and I have yet to catch a glimpse of his balding head. I'm upset. Maybe I can be all you guys' friends since you seem to have more luck.

I agree, Verde is one of my all-time Nashville favorites. Smooth and at ease is how I leave every Verde show. The only good thing about For All The Drifters is their drummer. Verde has three good things.

Let me guess:

1) Andrea is really hot
2) Andrea has an amazing vocal talent
3) Andrea is really hot

At least, this is what the Nashville Rage would have you believe.

They also never fail to mention her husband, who is a great guy. 1. Andrea is great, also, don't get me wrong. But I fully recognize the importance and hotness of 2.Brian and 3.Keith. and also that Verde is 1.Andrea, 2.Brian, and 3.Keith, not just the frontwman. I see that happen much too often. As if the other members had no input or mind of their own. I hate that. Hits close to home with me.

Ben Folds is stalking me I believe. I saw him almost ten times in a two week span a few weeks back. Saw him at Fido (twice), Kinko's, the airport, Belcourt, and Home Depot among just a few...

thanks for the verde info guys. i'll try harder to make it to the next show, fo real.
it was a huge suprise seeing lauren again. bigger than finding the headlining band was a christian rock group and not just a bunch of gay guys as i suspected.
she's just another ho that i met in the hood
i told her i was crunchy black and it was all good

I agre wholeheartedly. Brian and Keith have much more input into the music than people realize and they're both tremendous musicians (and great people). As far as "hotness" goes, well... Also, Andrea's husband (David of Luxury Liners and Foxymorons) is one of the coolest guys I know and I miss all the banter he contributed when he was in the band.

Ok, Carl's right. Ever since I found out he lived in my old neighborhood in Nashville, I've been searching for Ben & resenting all my friends who had seen him. Then, less than an hour after I flew in to Nashville last week, he walked into Bongo Java & sat down near me with his lovely wife. My friend Bob kicked me in the shins until I went over to say something, knowing I'd be pissed at myself if I didn't. It was basically like this:

Me: "I'm so sorry to do this, but I love your music. <insert more pathetic babbling & apologies here until interrupted by:
Ben: Thanks. Hi, I'm Ben.
Frallie: I'm Frallie.
Me: I'm Lauren. Sorry again. Thanks for the great music, blah, blah <repitition of previous fawning & apologies.

It was all very silly and I was very sweaty but I was glad to get it over with. He looked cute & scruffy, but not nearly so hot as Keith or Brian.
