good work my friend. I had some rest since my last haul and now am going for a new personal record of 60. I will have to get a nap here or there, but it's time to get crackin', or addn', if you will.

A little trick to waking from a short sleep: Set your alarm for 18 minutes before you want to get up, take a vivarin (or something more potent if you wish) hit snooze twice and you'll wake up feeling like you've had a full night's rest. Downside is you might crash hard when it wears off.

Alright...there has been one time in my life that i have gone for over 48 hours of sleep. And, i SWEAR i started to see things. That's about the time that I crashed and slept for about 12 hours. Then I was all better. I'm a light-weight compared to you guys.

Deevol- I thought the reason people went to UT was so they wouldn't have to... you know... do work.

P.S. Don't take offense- that's coming from someone who goes to Belmont. I haven't done homework since '99.
I TOTALLY AGREE!

yes Keith, that is the reason 95% of the students in Knoxville are here. Unfortunately I am a graduating senior of the architecture major and our school not only aspires to, but competes with Ivy League programs. Not to say that I really wish for the same, but I am happy with my education. I always see the 'normals' out partying and wonder what life would be like being a psychology or business major (nothing against these, they are just opposite the spectrum). The cool thing is that I am awake for my 37th hour, have had three beers, and I'm hammered, and for some reason, talkative, sorry.

When I was in college, I would say, 'This sucks; I can't wait to get out.' (Yes, I really use semi-colons when I speak.) All of the older, responsible people around me would say, 'Oh some day you'll long for the carefree days of college. Enjoy it while it lasts.'

I'm here to tell everyone in school that the advice of the older, responsible people is TOTAL CRAP! Being out of college rocks!!! It's just like being in college... except you have lots of money and you never have to write papers. Also, there isn't a college. Other than that, it's just like the undergrad days. You get to play Nintendo all of the time, swim in the pool, meet hot chicks, and play on the Internet at ridiculously late hours. Yes, you do have to have a 'job,' but if you're sneaky, it won't take any more time than a full load of classes takes.

So... to everyone suffering through school... hang in there. It's TOTALLY worth it.

you must not have majored in recording industry. i know this has been discussed here before, but let's bring it up again.  i know a few mtsu recording industry graduates who are doing the following:
--working at a bagel shop
--absolutely nothing
--working at a coffee shop
--working at a cd store (me)

some might call it lack of ambition, but it's also pretty hard to find a 'real' music industry job.  but the only reason i want a 'real' job is not for the credibility. i just want health insurance.

Jamie, by opposite ends of the spectrum I meant type of work. You write a lot of papers. Even though you spend a lot of time on them you have the opportunity to get them done early and do somethng later that week or weekend. I don't get that option. I have two weeks at the end of a semester to represent and entire semester's worth of design changes. After creating this presentation I have a jury where 3-5 faculty members tell me everything wrong with my project and then mark a box, pass or fail. This time those boxes mean graduate or don't, I'm a little stressed. All in the same I know lots of people who work just as hard, like yourself, but have more time just because of the nature of their assignments.

No offense taken, deevol.  My comment was aimed as much at Keith (No Homework since '99) as you.  I almost had an nervous breakdown today at school.  Too much work due in two days time.  Too many non-participatory 'team' members.  Too many presentations.  Wait...am I in PowerPoint right now, or Excel?  I need this Features show tonight so so badly.

Do any of you insomniacs ever forget what day it is? On Monday, I LITERALLY could not remember what day it was. I knew it was either Monday or Wednesday because of which class I was in, but I was trying as hard as I could to determine the day and I could not do it. I had to ask.

I have had that happen before. It really sucks when I do figure out and the day is saturday, and I'm at the architecture building.

Here's the worst thing to ever happen, and it was just a couple days ago:

I had been awake for right around 40 hours and was going strong, didnt feel tired at all. Then the next thing I knew I woke up at the computer I had been working on all day and night, hands still on mouse and keyboard, and I had no idea where I was. when I finally came around I realized that I had actually worked on the computer in my sleep! everything I drew was completely wrong, but nonetheless, I was drafting in my sleep, pretty scary.

Obviously I was kidding about the no homework since '99 thing. I am just pretty spoiled by my only taking 9 non-internship hours this semester. There have been some Belmont business classes where I have worked my ass off (International Business comes to mind), but for the most part Belmont has been much easier than most other colleges, I assume, and much much easier than highschool (USN), I know. I think the reason is more that the classes move at a slow pace because the majority of the students are idiots, than the actual work being easy. Am I making any sense? Anyway, the point is Belmont sucks. No wait, the point is I don't have to work very hard at all and I have a 3.5+ GPA.

I am going to bed now.  I have been up for 38:26.  That is incredible for me.  Usually when I stay up all night, I have to go to bed at around the 30 hour mark.  But the promise of a Features show kept me vertical, and I was not let down.  All in all, I hate having to stay up all night. I like getting lots of sleep every night. Sleep is great. Bye.
