Well they've done it again, I can't begin to describe how much I hate this organization. They've just started a new "campaign" comparing animal cruelty to the Holocaust. I hope they get sued for eveything they got.

By the way, Here's The Site

i must say, as a vegetarian, I do not by any means hate PETA, but they do go a little too far. ive never seen any of their videos or anythihng; i don't really want to see the slaughter...

but the holocaust thing is fucked up.
thank you for being a friend.

Maddox has an excellent write up on this organization.

I'm not against vegetarians or anything, Peta just pisses me off. Mainly because they try to recruit people. It's like the mormons. I like meat, damnit.

that was an excellent article!!!

and stalker, my mom is a veggi as well. I have no problems with that or people trying to prevent animal cruelty. its just that PETA is notorious for using controversial ad campaigns just to get their name out in the spotlight. . . they might think it does SOME good, but i think in this case, saving little pigs from small crates will be the farthest thing from peoples minds.

not that i would ever decide to give up meat, but if i did it would be a personal decision and not one i would expect others to make through the same enlightenment that had come over me. frankly i think that there are more important issues to take into account, namely. it's one thing to say that torturing animals is wrong, but obviously, you have to kill them before you eat them.

that is true. but there are more humane ways to kill animals than the ways slaughter houses do it. which, i think, is what PETA is protesting... i don't know; ive never been very familiar with the organization. i don't eat meat, that's all i know. and peta had no hand in my decision.

mostly what they protest is the fact that animals are raised for the slaughter. this is supposedly harmful to their emotions and psyche. like they have any clue that they're going to die.

i have no problem eating meat if its, say, a hamburger or a chicken breast. i just hate eating meat off a bone so i generally stay away from fried chicken and such. ribs are an exception but i still dont eat those often because its hard. i like steak but i dont eat it too often because im picky with how i like it cooked and i pretty much cant efficiently use a knife. i have my own little methods of cutting but i look ridiculous. good thing i like (boneless) chicken.

I kill mice for a living, so PETA is my natural enemy.

I believe in animal welfare, not animal rights.

I had baby cow for dinner last night and it was magnificent.

I am really against what you just said. You could almost say that your statement is very "OPPOSABLE".

Well, Barbie didn't either, but she did have posable knees. And GIJoes also had frozen thumbs, but posable knees, elbows, AND hips. This puts Rachel in good company.

apparently im a science project now.

i hit the space bar with my right hand index finger.
id have to eat one to know for sure but i think i have both thumbs on the bottom of the pizza and both indexes and both middles on top.
i do know that i hold a pencil wrong but i write fine.

im pretty sure im being insulted but i dont know enough about posable thumbs to know why.

well, basically they are 'opposable'. 'posable' thumbs would be the kind that you put into place and they would stay there. everyone was using their sharp wit.

its ok, hunny. don't feel bad. we all make mistakes!

a few years ago, my freshamn yr of college, this guy who i was in a play with didn't know that the "b" in subtle was silent. man, that's not only ironic, but embarrasing!

btw, what does it mean when you don't have opposable thumbs? maybe you could shed some light on the subject, rach.

"Opposable" basically means able to resist. As you know, our thumbs can be placed against another object, like a fork for instance, in order to hold it in place. The force of the thumb resists the force of gravity pulling down the fork. If you put a fork in a cat's paw, it will not be able to hold onto it because they lack opposable thumbs.

This is also why Jinx was not able to flush the toilet.
I TOTALLY AGREE!

from yahoo news:
"People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals filed the suit in California Superior Court in Los Angeles against KFC and KFC's parent, Yum Brands Inc., seeking an injunction to stop what it says are deceptive statements on the KFC Web site."

let me add that Yum Brands is an awesome name. when I think of KFC, i think of yum.

My favorite thing about Yum Brands is that they changed their name/image from Tricon Global.

I hear Yum, I think of bubble gum and candy.
I hear Tricon, I think of suits and board rooms building toxic factories in 3rd world countries.

well, back to discussing PETA. i am also a vegetarian but not because of the cute fuzzy little animals. i don't like meat because of health issues invovled. a lot of animals are raised on hormones and such which is not very healthy for humans to eat. for example, it makes children reach puberty sooner. anyways, this is also debatable. i don't mind anyone eating meat. after all, damon eats 2 lbs. a day. as far as animals being raised to be eaten, well...that's what they are for in my opinion. i mean, how much use can a chicken be, besides for eggs and KFC? comparing animal cruelty to the Holocaust is completely uncalled for. i really find it offensive. the Holocaust killed people. people have feelings and families. animals don't, i don't care what anyone says. dry.gif

sorry for the rant. blink.gif unsure.gif
