Guess she wouldn't put strings on her album.

Sorry, was that in bad taste?

I was going to say that he should have been in jail long ago for what he did to the Beatles' Get Back sessions, but you put it more eloquently.

maybe this has something to do with apple announcing plans to put "let it be" out of print, and replace it with the spector-free "get back".

Dammit, Keith, you beat me to that. That was the first thing I thought when I saw that story.

what? really? i dont think that would be a good idea. even though "let it be" is only an average beatles album, an "average" beatles album is STILL better than most artist's best album. I heard that capitol was contemplating releasing a box set of the get back sessions....i've seen bootleg "get back sessions" box sets on ebay that contain up to 15 discs....i've actually downloaded stuff from these sessions, very interesting stuff like an impromptu version of "rainy day women #12 and 35" among other mind-blowing rarities....

I just want the film Let It Be to be released on DVD with widescreen picture and enhanced sound. Add to that some deleted scenes. Then add a commentary with Ringo and Paul and WE HAVE A WINNER!

Hell I dunno if Ronnie Spector even produced that song, but his skank ass ugly ex was in it. That has to be the second best lighting job in the world in a music video, to make the female look sexy. Number one is hands down "I Touch Myself" by the DiVinyls. That chick was beaten severly by the ass end of the ugly stick, but looks like the hottest thing since Texas toast in the vid.

Have you heard Eddie Money's retarded ads for some mortgage company here in Middle Tenn? I about drove off the road. I work a lot in advertising (my real world job) when I'm not off documenting the Features. I can't imagine the pitch that went on in that meeting. And at the end he says something to the effect of, "Hey! Who knows? We could be neighbors!" I don't know if that's supposed to be a good thing or a funny/bad thing, like he's some crazy rock star. Either way I lose! It could be up there with the all time worst ads, if it only contained my 5 hated words: "For all your _____ needs." Jesus, is that lazy copyrighting. Has anyone ever really had La-z-Boy needs?

More Phil info:

"62-year-old famed music producer Phil Spector admitted in an interview with the British newspaper The Daily Telegraph that he was "probably insane" and claimed that he had "devils inside" and lived a reclusive life as a "tortured soul." Spector told the paper, "I would say I'm probably relatively insane, to an extent. I take medication for schizophrenia, but I wouldn't say I'm schizophrenic. But I have a bipolar personality, which is strange. I'm my own worst enemy. I have devils inside that fight me." The interview -- which was his first in 25 years -- actually took place inside the same home in Alhambra, Los Angeles, where four weeks later the body of Lana Clarkson was discovered dead. Spector was arrested Feb. 3 in the case but freed on $1 million bond."

Let's see...not schizophrenic, only relatively insane, but takes anti-psychotic medicine and still has demons talking to him inside his head...

As the biggest Phil Spector fan I know (In case you didn't know, it is he that adorns my avatar), I am not surprised in the least by the reecent developments. I'm sure he is guilty. Now I guess I have to decide if it is in bad taste to leave the picture of him up on my bedroom door.

It may not be that big of a shock, but......

taken from nme.com:

LOS ANGELES COUNTY sheriff's detectives have concluded that legendary producer PHIL SPECTOR was responsible for the shooting earlier this year that left actress LANA CLARKSON dead.

The legendary producer was arrested in the early hours of February 3 after police responded to reports of a shooting at his Alhambra mansion. Clarkson, 40, was found dead in the foyer of his home and a handgun was retrieved from the scene.

Spector posted $1 million bond the next day and was freed. He was initially scheduled to appear in court on August 4, six months after he posted bail, but prosecutors were still waiting for the evidence to be handed over by investigators. Police cite complex forensic tests and the thorough review of evidence as the cause for the lengthy lag time between Clarkson's death and the conclusion of their investigation, Rolling Stone reports.

Spector has maintained his innocence since the shooting occurred. He told Esquire this summer, "I didn't do anything wrong. If they had a case, I'd be in jail right now." The producer insists that Clarkson, whom he met for the first time on an evening out in LA the night before the shooting, shot and killed herself.

Investigator Captain Frank Merriman disagreed, telling the LA Times: "It's not an accident, it's not a suicide. Phil Spector shot her."

Last month Spector's bail was extended to September 30. Prosecutors have not yet indicated their course of action. No charges have been filed yet, but the case has been turned over to the county's district attorney.
