The number of people who like Phish on this board is not many, my young padawan learner. Also, many who do like Phish will not admit it
Relevant: Prince, PT Anderson, Punk, Post-Punk, Purple, Party of Five, Peter Swanson, Peter Gabriel-led Genesis, "Peter Panic", Paul's Boutique, Potential Energy, Every Features MB member but me.

I used to love Phish and saw over 40 shows. I still like them and listen to them occasionally, but even if they started touring again, I wouldn't regularly travel to see them anymore. I never really got sick of the music, I just couldn't stand their fans anymore. Although Phish fans claim to be this peace loving, accepting, whatever community, they are, for the most part, the rudest, most uncaring people I have ever met.

The one event that completely turned me off of the whole scene, was waiting 10 hours in the Vegas heat with a young couple to get front row at a general admission show. First we waited all day in the sun, then we got inside and stood up for probably 2 hours before they played, and the couple smoked pot to pass the time. Then the show started and after about an hour of the couple dancing, the girl passed out. Her husband/boyfriend shoves her over the rail and tells security to be careful with her because she was pregnant. Instead of attending his heat exhausted, stoned, pregnant, unconscious wife, the guy just keeps dancing to Chalkdust Torture or whatever.

This kind of thoughtless behavior is typical of Phish fans and makes me embarassed to call myself one regardless of the music.
I TOTALLY AGREE!

Keith, you are destined to rock. Never forget this.

I could not agree more, Keith.  Phish tour has attracted an ENORMOUS amount of parasites - people that don't give a shit about the music at all, people that are just there to hang out with other overschooled, uninspired, unemployed, drug users.  It's like roadie says, 'pressure to conform to a nonconformist standard'. These people wish so bad that their lives could be one continuous Woodstock, they want it so bad that they are willing to be assholes to an unimaginable degree, and fuck anyone over to maintain their 'scene'.  Oh, and there are also alot of people there who just want to make money.  These people may well have run the Phish boat into the ground forever.

Is this thefeatures.com or rec.music.phish, Keith?

Hey, I didn't start the thread.

....But since you mentioned it, what is your favorite You Enjoy Myself anyway? (Please don't answer, that was a joke).
I TOTALLY AGREE!

jamiec.-i'm assuming that crack could have been directed at me and you may be right. used to love em, but just got a bit tired of them. i think cavern is possibly the greatest song ever and parrish reminds me of young page mcconnell.
You know you have problems, with both money and alcohol, when you find yourself shoving beers down your pants outside a Features show.

Elliott- are you intentionally trying to provoke a response? The Features could not be farther (thank god) from being a jam band. They play tight, fun pop songs that don't require you to be high to enjoy. And their fans (except yourself?) don't push pregnant women around.
