TOPIC: Pinwheel fans?

If you liked Pinwheel on Nickelodeon in the early 80s, here's a link that has some of the bizarre songs & lyrics from the segments on it. The song from Chapi Chapo was like the theme melody of my childhood- I remember singing it in my head ALL THE TIME even though I didn't know any words. But I never realized back then that it was a kickass pop song.

I remember both Pinwheel and Today's Special, although the titles to both of them escaped me for about a decade until just recently. But neither of them compare to Muppet Babies, Clarissa Explains It All, Salute Your Shorts, etc.

But My Brother And Me? That show...I hope all the actors die in a pool of their own vomit.

Hey Dude has got to be one of my all-time favorite shows. Ted, Brad, Melody, Mr. Ernst, Buddy, Danny, Kyle, Jake, and Lucy. You just can't get enough of them.

Oh...I enjoyed My Brother And Me. I chuckled lightly at their antics. "Don't hold your breath!" "Hit me!" "Goooo" it all was entertaining for the 7 episodes that were made.

Then Nickelodeon decided to show My Brother And Me for an hour every weekend. Fine. Now let's do the math: 7 episodes X 2 airings a week for upwards of THREE years. What does that equal? PAIN. It equals nausea any time I think of anyone selling candy bars ("hey, it's our FLY jackets"). When Deedee got that retardo haircut...and that poor white kid. The sole white kid and he was so annoying. Then remember when the dishwasher flooded? AAAGGHHH.

I should not remember this much about this show. Hey Dude, YES. Clarrissa, YES. Pete & Pete, YES. I loved these shows. They were smart. Funny. Cool. They had more than SEVEN episodes.

Of course...nothign is worse than Weinerville....

Lucy! I totally forgot her name (but not Lucy, who could forget the adult-figure-ernest-lovin-advice-giver (I actually don't know if she loved her some Ernest, but I always thought they should have hooked up)). Wow I just did a parenthesis in parenthesis....

But Laura Innes (Dr. Weaver of ER) was on Hey Dude! once playing Ted's teacher. She got it with Ernest too. And what was up with Ted's replacement guy (Cody? What was his name?)? And what was up with how Ted came back and they kept the replacement guy?

And the dad from Clarrissa is on a new Fox show. It's like Candid Camera but instead of just someone farting, the victim stumbles into a situation-comedy type thing. Like, Victim is a hairdresser and he thinks he's been hired for a wedding, but he sees the groom kissing a bridesmaid so he freaks out. The whole thing is scripted out and adlibbed...it was interesting. But the dad on the show is Marshall from Clarissa.

Odd...

Yeah, aside from the newer Nick stuff that I guess I'm just to old for, Noggin also shows Clarissa, Daria & Pete & Pete. Noggin, MTV2, and the Game Show Network form a triumverate of stations that I need. Of course I would be satisfied with just the Game Show Network.

Hey Sandy is an awesome song. My friend got obsessed with Pete & Pete (rightfully so, the show had Michael Stipe, Janeane Garofolo AND Iggy Pop) and I did some online research for her about Polaris. I found out a whole lot of interesting stuff. THe band is/was a side project from some other band that was moderately successful in the indie scene (I assume). Too bad I can't remember anything I learned that night...

well, there were certainly funny elements to it, like the hair doll, but it was no masterpiece. let's put it this way...it's not as bad as the cable guy, but it is certainly no office space.

I agree. I loved The Cable Guy. There are so many people that I know who thought that it wasn't any good. I always felt like the weird one since I really liked it. I think someone called it a dark comedy. Ah.. All I know is that I appreciated it.

Yeah, I really need to see if Kazaa has some episodes. I would love to see it again. The security guard was a puppet, there was a mouse and then a human woman and a "manneqin."

And they never showed the store during store hours did they?
