TOPIC: Pitchfork's 100 Greatest Albums of the 80's

well, this list is very interesting, as well as very nicely done. some very nice and truly deserving picks as well as a predictable number one.

see for yourself: http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/top/80s/index.shtml

i for one was happy to see "scary monsters" by david bowie on there, since it was his last good album, as well as "stands for decibels" by the db's. two very good albums that dont get the respect that they deserve.

i respect any list that has "power, corruption, and lies" by new order on it.

i'm surprised to see remain in light at #2 (it's probably only on there for 'once in a lifetime'). when i think of the 80s i hardly think of that album. also, rio at #95?!?

i was very surprised by "remain in light" being number two as well. overall, i thought the list was pretty good. i was very glad to see husker du on there as well as "closer" by joy division being number ten.

however, i only have one complaint...why was "sandinista!" by the clash not on the list? it's a really really good triple album set...

Hmmm...I'd have put EVOL above Daydream Nation, but maybe I'm just weird. Cool to see The Feelies on there.

what's wrong with that one? I like X.
props to you for having a wire song for a name, though.

i just don't like them. i bought it recently and it just didn't do it for me. listened to "wild gift" and it's the same deal. the music's a little more boring than i'd expected.
