Eh....eh....eh...um...what is the context of that list? It has to be something that fans voted on because I cannot believe that any self-respecting music journalist would make that list...especially Q, a magazine that I do enjoy. Eh...the Vines were in there, and I love the Strokes but "Is This It" is NOT one of the 10 best albums of all time. That was just, for lack of a better word, "whack."

my thoughts exactly.....i mean "jagged little pill" over "the velvet underground and nico"?!?! come on!

and apparently madonna's "ray of light" must be some kind of forgotten classic because it beat "pet sounds", "raw power", "hunky dory", and "the white album"!?!? among others.....

72. the prodigy- the fat of the land
I like how they just slipped this one in there. Did you think we wouldn't notice this, guys?

I have a proclaimation to make: any list of greatest albums of all time that has Nevermind at #1 is officially irrelevant (not to mention dreadfully predictable).
Relevant: Prince, PT Anderson, Punk, Post-Punk, Purple, Party of Five, Peter Swanson, Peter Gabriel-led Genesis, "Peter Panic", Paul's Boutique, Potential Energy, Every Features MB member but me.

As a list-o-phile, I have to say that I'm always suspect of any list that puts stuff that is a year old or less on more than two-percent of the list. I love Rush of Blood to the Head, White Blood Cells, and Is This It. Do I think they deserve to be on a top 100 of all time list? No. Maybe they do, but for now it is too early to call.

Which is why my top films list's most recent film is Chungking Express, from 1994. I love Fight Club, Rushmore, Royal Tenenbaums, and the like, but time has to bear them out as classics.

You may like grandma's yard gnomes, but I've seen Rock City. Remember it.

What a load of shit! First of all, Nevermind as the number one album of all time???!!! No. I'm so sick of it beating Beatles albums. It outrages me. This insanity should stop.

And The Bealtes, The White Album as number 45...ridiculous. It's only one of the most influencial albums of all time...that's all...apparently Nirvana, Dr. Dre, Rage Against the Machine, Public Enemy, Eminem, and The Beastie Boys produced better albums than The Beatles?! I'm sorry, but if The White Album was a one-track album consisting of nothing but "Happiness is a Warm Gun", "Rocky Raccoon", or "Sexy Sadie", it would still be better than any album by any other band ever...PERIOD. I may sound like a butthole saying this...but that's not only my opinion, but I feel it is the undeniable truth. And, finally, where's Abbey Road, Rubber Soul, or any lesser Beatles album for that matter. Out of one hundred albums, there should be more than 3 of their's included. Oh, and I love Radiohead, and OK Computer is one of my favorite albums, but it is in no way better than Revolver. Once again, "Eleanor Rigby" alone qualifies Revolver as one of the best albums ever.

Is This It is one of my favorite albums of all time, but I also agree that it should not be above many of the albums that it is above.

I want to know who voted for this list. I usually hate all of Rolling Stone's lists, but this beats them all in my opinion. What a joke!

From what I understand, these were voted by the public. Eminem should not be anywhere on that list. That's bullshit. Nirvana at #1? Please.. I don't think Nervermind should be anywhere near #1.

Exactly...."nevermind" is a decent album, but certainly not the greatest one ever made. it is an overrated album in my honest opinion.
