How many feet are in a story?

Im trying to see whether splash mountain (5 stories) has a bigger drop off than Jurassic Park: The Ride (85 feet).
Eh.

A story is a relative term from what I understand. Ask one of these architects on the board, but I think its generally around 13 feet.

From an architecture terms dictionary:

Story - A horizontal division of a building, from the floor to the ceiling above it.

I always thought it was about 10 feet. A 5 story building would be about 50 feet? I think ceilings are usually about 8 feet from the floor, and there's the additional 2 feet of wood or supports above and/or below.

I just arrived at 13 feet by dividing some buildings like the Sears Tower and WTC. They come to about 13 ft. Ten would be a fair assesment though. At my house though, I have 8 foot cielings upstairs and 9 1/2 down... so like I said its relative.

Jurassic Park is taller, but Splash Mountain is better.

Which one? They've randomized the drop profiles so now it's different each time... but they're all very, very good.

And, unfortunately, I think the message board may have lost its biggest Tower of Terror fan.

They'd have to come close to me. One day, I rode it about twelve times. I like how they aged the hotel. Great ride.
