TOPIC: Sexy Girls Have Dessert
Posted  Wednesday, May 26, 2004 at 5:44 PM
Post 1 of 29
I was looking through In Style today and saw an advertisement for Jessica Simpson's new line of edible beauty products. It's called Dessert.

Anyway, I just wanted to say that I think this is a fucking terrible idea. I mean, if you want to mix in some whipped cream or whatever in the bedroom, that's cool. But let's not try to pretend that the whipped cream is anything but a food product. Let's keep the food and the makeup separate, okay?

Here's the slogan: "It's a fragrance. It's a flavor. You wear it. Then share it."

Here are some of the products: Whipped body cream with candy sprinkles, Chocolicious body gloss, Powdered sugar body shimmer, Sugar scrub, Sweet body butter, Hot body topping.

I heard about this on the news. Apparently some parents are upset about it because they feel it encourages teens to have sex... the freaky kind of sex the parents have always wanted to have for themselves.

I would think it would promote cavities more than sex.

I heard they think it'll help out the pedophiles. You know, putting the kid's favorite Jessica Simpson sprinkles on the erect honey-dipped penis and whatnot.
That's so NA.

er...how colorful...well, i'm going to also take the stance that it's yet one more message sent to the youth that is entirely wrong in every way...honestly if i weren't living in the midst of this syphilitic cultural milieu sometimes i don't think i would believe it...and jessica simpson should, of course, be hanged from the highest tree, not simply for having a hand in marketing vaguely sexual products to 'tweens or even for marrying her equally ubiquitous bore of a husband, but for being the vacuous, talentless black hole of a person that she is...sorry for the rant, but it would've been redundant and possibly even a bit charitable of me to have merely called her stupid.

Andrewjsmithson, I like you and the way you phrase things.

I hate how Jessica Simpson has made tons of money on how big of a retard she is. She mentions that buffalos don't have wings, and BAM! Pizza Hut commercial. Gag.

andrew, i will agree, your posts are a welcome addition. your like of the cubs i cannot condone however. I think as of the time of writing I can say that my Reds are still ahead in the central though. as for this post, i think sexy girls have dessert would make a good band name. and for the record jessica simpson is not hot.

true enough...i am a big baseball fan and i feel that, as long as you're not a fan of the yanks or the cards, we're somewhat on the same side. that said, if you would've told me that over 1/4th of the way through the season we'd be in second place having been without prior completely and with the likes of sosa, wood, remlinger, and grudz all with significant DL-time, i would've been happy...and when we get everyone healthy, there may be no stopping us. the reds did drop two of three to the marlins, but i haven't looked at the standings today, as the cubs are off...there is yet a whole lot of baseball to be played. so here's to that!

-I don't think Mark Prior will be effective this year, even if he does come back. You can write this year off as far as he's concerned - the 60-day DL is a curse if ever there was one. Hopefully he'll be back next year. This year, it's all about Matt Clement (my favorite!) and Carlos Zambrano.

-My other favorite Cub, Moises Alou, is having a pretty good year. Keep pissing on yourself, Moises!

-Ken Griffey Jr. It's about damn time. I was about to write him off completely. Watch him get "injured" next week, though.

-As a Cubs fan, I'm alot more worried about the Astros than the Reds. Sorry, Cautioner.

-I actually don't hate the Cardinals. Other than the Yankees, the only other baseball team that I hate is the Marlins. And I don't hate them nearly as much since Pudge left.

i think if anybody can go from the 60-day DL to being effective, it's mark prior though...he's a freak...there was an article i saw in some paper that said "urine good hands with alou"...funny stuff. yeah, agreed the astros should be the team to contend with, not the reds. i'm surprised griffey has been healthy this long--it's only a matter of time before he dives for a ball and breaks something. i hate st. louis, not just for being the cubs biggest rivals, but for a variety of personal reasons. i have bad memories of the place itself. plus, the stl. rams beat our titans in the super bowl, so the whole place be damned as far as i'm concerned...i wrote a song once called 'st louis misery'...not particularly original, the concept, but it was a nice little song.

Why can't I get Cubs games on the radio? That would make work much more interesting.

i don't know...you can't get wgn radio 720 here, obviously, but i've thought about getting satellite radio for this very reason. i'm sure there's lots of cool junk on it as well, but i want to listen to the games when they're not on telly--wgn doesn't show nearly enough games, and sometimes they show white sox games which is lame--people in chicago don't even care about the chisox, on the whole...i am a really big dork, as i frequently follow the games pitch-by-pitch on mlb.com or on the cubs.com website...i even go into the cubs chatroom and talk it up. if you are unfamiliar, it might be kind of interesting...you just find the appropriate game on mlb.com scoreboard and click on gameday. they have gameday audio and a way to watch nearly all the games online, but they want some of your money for that. if you already knew about that, nevermind. today, for instance, there's a doubleheader at pittsburgh...wgn is showing neither of the games, nor a white sox game...really dropping the ball over there.

I do that too. You used to be able to listen to the games for free online. It wasn't until last season, I think, when they started charging money for that.

back to the more interesting topic at hand

- Griffey is finally playing well because the Reds actually have a chance to do well while he's healthy

Interesting stories: Danny Graves, Jake Peavy, Moises Alou, Matt Clement, Craig Wilson, Craig Biggio, Jose Mesa, Tom Glavine, Jeromy Burnitz, Johnny Damon's beard (RIP) and hair, Lyle Overbay, Miguel Cabrera, The Rocket, Danny Kolb, Lance Berkman, San Diego, Anaheim, Texas, Phila, Cincinnatti, LA, the NL Central, Franz Ferdinand

andrewjsmithson, you're a welcome addition here. more baseball talk!

i'm pleased someone thinks so...if griffey can stay healthy, which is a huge question-mark, the reds can definitely continue to lead the central...the reason the whole division is within a few games of each other is undoubtedly the mediocre play--nobody has established itself as the best team, they're all about the same...even somehow the black knights from pittsburgh--this is the latest point they've been at .500 in five years. i was actually a fan of johnny damon's caveman look...usually i don't favor the long hair for baseball players, but for some reason for him it was working. somehow, there is a features fantasy baseball league and i missed out on it...disappointing, that.

i hate the braves--i was in atlanta for radiohead last year and i went to the braves-cubs playoff game the night before...it was the one where the cubs eliminated the braves--it was like wrigley field south. the cubs fans were louder than the braves fans in fact...but it was beautiful. needless to say, after that and the radiohead show the next night, it was a perfect weekend. regarding the gay porn pitcher, to say he's having a tough time would be an understatement most likely...

after hating the braves for many, many years, I grew to realize that I would miss them if they weren't in the playoff picture every single year. this was around 1999. I like them ok now and it is tough to see them slip a little bit, but I think they'll rebound pretty soon after this year. hell, the year's not over, they might come back. nevertheless, the braves fans in atlanta have disgusted me since the move to turner field. not selling out playoff games?? give me a break. boo to you citizens of atlanta.
