They are excellent. I saw them in Austin with our favorite bass player. He's a big fan of theirs, and now, so am I. They are from Tulsa. Kinda like Talking Heads meets Revolver/Rubber Soul era Beatles if that makes any sense. We chatted with them briefly after the show. Very nice guys (and girl). I'd highly recommend them.

One of my friends burned me "Dream that Stuff Was Made Of" a little over a year ago and I loved it. They are really one of my favorite bands and their new album, "Built on Squares" is amazing. "Brass Digger" is the best song that I have heard in a while and I recommend that everyone check it out. They are so quirky and cool...I really wish I could see them in concert.

Maybe these guys'll be big enough one day that someone will actually buy one of their CDs! With that said I'd like to thank Lauren for my burned copy as well.

I'm pretty sure I saw them at the End about a year ago and I'm pretty sure I liked them. That's about it.

I fell in love with Dream That Stuff Was Made Of when I got it a few years ago and I think I'm gonna have to pull it back out now that I'm thinking about it. I agree, The Bandit is awesome but I also loved #9 and #10...I never know titles of songs...I think it is the Margarita one and the Showdown or something. But you should deff. check them out! The songs sometimes have strings in the background and they really add to it all. biggrin.gif

"Margarita" and "The Twilight Showdown." Both amazing songs...I also own both "Dream that Stuff Was Made Of" and the new one. I bought both of them at Media Play, actually, since they're the only store that I have found in middle TN that carries their CDs.

I've heard "Pages" on a music sampler, and it was pretty good... I just heard it today... I'll give it a few more spins.

"Pages" is a great song, definitely one of the best on the new CD. They all take a couple listens to become amazing.

And yeah, Ray, I'll be down with burning a CD if I ever see you again sad.gif unsure.gif

I remember seeing the Starlight Mints at Monsters of Pop 2 or 3 or 4 years ago. I think they played with Lifeboy??? Is this ringing a bell, Keith?? Anyway, I remember there was some hype around them but they sucked ass live. And then one of the guys in the band had the audacity to say to, I think William, that all of the bands they played with that night sucked.

I'm a little fuzzy on the details but I do remember everyone saying they were assholes. Could have been the exception, though. Its not entirely fair to judge a band by how they act while on tour.

Anybody else remember this better than I do?

ps I thought their CD sucked too. Haven't heard anything since. Perhaps I should give it a listen.

Yeah, I remember them being cocks, and I remember nothing about their music.
I TOTALLY AGREE!

Keith, you are destined to rock. Never forget this.
