Okay, I've heard the comparisons to the Talking Heads one too many times. I'm ashamed to say that, with the exception of a few singles I'm vaguely aware of, I'm completely ignorant to this band. What albums/songs would you recommend to a Features fan? And are we talking Sergio era or Post-Sergio era Features?

I think that the Features are equal parts the Kinks, the Attractions, and the Talking Heads. The Talking Heads were a great band, and if you like the Features, chances are, you'll like them.

The following albums are great:

Talking Heads: 77
More Songs About Buildings and Food
Fear of Music
Remain in Light

Their other albums I cannot vouch for, because I've never heard them.

Or if you want to listen and watch, you can rent Stop Making Sense. I think it's out on DVD now.

For a Features fan, I would say that "More Songs About Buildings and Food" is the safest bet. It is a very solid album all the way through. Other than that, I only have "77" and "Fear of Music", as well as both the CD and DVD of "Stop Making Sense." All of these are pretty equally amazing.

if you want a good overview, try the 'sand in the vaseline' collection--the entire first disc is amazing.

Yeah, that's what I would suggest. Then, 77 or Fear of Music.

I would choose Fear Of Music after Sand in the Vaseline, then Remain in Light, then '77, then More Songs......

Also, you should check out the Eno/David Byrne album "My Life in the Bush of Ghosts"...........electro-afrofunk at its finest......
