TOPIC: The Big Lebowski
Posted  Tuesday, March 12, 2002 at 3:03 PM
Post 1 of 23
This is the topic under which all things Lebowski will be talked about. Since this is the greatest movie of all time I felt it needed its own place on this message board. I know many of you like this movie almost as much as I do so anytime you want to talk about this movie I will make sure this topic doesn't fall far off the first page. If you don't like the word 'fuck' you may not want to read any post under this topic for it is used 267 times in the movie and will be used many times here. Another thing is fucking Nihilist and Fascist are not allowed but pacifist are welcome because you know

I really like the Big Lebowski, but I'd lose a whole lot of respect for the Coens if they made a sequel of any of their movies.

'The Man Who Wasn't There' was the best movie I saw in 2001, no contest.

I SWEAR that I saw Walter at Pizza Perfect last Saturday...and we were making our own low budget movie at the time, but unfortunately it wasn't Lebowski 2, so we couldn't include him. He had the shades and everything...

I will go bowling anytime! in fact the guru owes me a few games from last week when I beat him - however he was very drunk falling down on the lanes - the people made the mistake of leaving us downstairs by ourselves with the beer taps left on -

actualy, i think we should keep talking about my brother and his substance abuse problems. but if we must do an about face, i'd say the dude simply because he will forever remind me of sam ashworth and his glory day$.
You know you have problems, with both money and alcohol, when you find yourself shoving beers down your pants outside a Features show.

The Dude is definitely SamAsh in his glory dayz (Sam would play the Dude in the thatrical adaptation). As far as a favorite character goes, I know this is so predictable, but my favorite has got to be Walter (played by Rob Marlow in the theatrical adaptation). Walter is great. Other Lebowski characters that I really like are Brent, Jackie Treehorn, and Bob Dylan (played by Chris Burton, Johnny Syphilis, and Luke Schneider, repectively, in the theatrical adaptation)

I always cry when Donnie dies. There were always so mean to him, and he was always so cool and nice.

anyway... I, too, love the film. I played a drinking game once where I drank every time they said 'fuck' and everytime they said 'dude'. that was a bad idea. I didn't last 30 minutes...
thank you for being a friend.

Hey JamieCarroll-

Want to go to Vegas for the next Lebowski Fest?

"Celebrity appearance by James Hoosier who played Liam (The Jesus' bowling partner) and Jeff "The Dude" Dowd."

Also, I miss Blightman.
I TOTALLY AGREE!

Keith, you are destined to rock. Never forget this.

I went to a "Lebowski Party" once dressed as a nihlist, but I looked a bit more like Margot Tennenbaum. I spilled caucasian on my black shirt and got pissed and yelled a lot.

I love this movie.
That's so NA.

Big surprise that Jeff "The Dude" Dowd is going to be there. I'm guessing that guy's calendar is uh, pretty open.

I don't know about Vegas, Keith, but blightman has already expressed interest in getting a group together to go back to the Louisville Lebowskifest in June. This time a trip to Kentucky Kingdom is going to be involved, and oh yeah, I'm sure we'll be going back to Caesar's Indiana as well.

For the record, I highly reccomend Lebowskifest for any serious fan of the movie.

I can't decide if Vegas or Disney World will be my next vacation. If anyone is planning a trip, I'm in.
