After many months of waiting, Yesterday I got my DVD copy of the Cure - Trilogy. It's live concert video of Pornography, Disintegration, and Bloodflowers. Each album played in its entire form back to back. being the fan i am this is a big deal for me as these albums are my favorites of the band. especially pornography. I am/was a little disapointed when the band decided not to perform any of these shows in America. (there were only 2, in Berlin!) so this allows me to act as if i was there.

does anyone else like these albums? if so which is your favorite or favorite Cure album in general.
We have about 1500 songs.....all of them good!

I'd say Pornography is my favorite Cure album, but I haven't really been exposed to every cure album. Most of my Cure experience has been from downloaded music. However, I absolutely love what I know.
you're everybody's second home
always trying to get me alone
an easy way to lose it all
always there when all else fails

I'm sure Ben Slack will have much to say about this...he has it and we viewed it the other night after the show (when there were no fireworks, mind you!). I really would like to watch it again and enjoy it, as mentioned in a previous thread I was in "party girl" mode that night. So I wasn't paying too much attention. It did seem like the songs were being played in order like on the album and that's really neat. I'm deff. a cure fan, maybe I'd like to get this for myself?!
dance your cares away...worries for another day.

Ghostflower--I meant to ask you about the DVD when you said you'd been listening to Pornography. My older sis got the DVD on its release day & excitedly told me I had to watch it. Since the two of us saw the Cure together back in '87 (and many times since then) I can't wait to watch the DVD (though I don't really like Bloodflowers).

I love Head on the Door, Kiss Me... (the first cassette I bought for myself--I was 10 years old), and Disintegration. Also Boys Don't Cry. And Wish. And Pornography.

smee how can you not like bloodflowers?!?!? thats ok.... Kiss Me was the first Cure album i had. i wore it out. i'm on my second copy!

my theory behind the trilogy is this.

Pornography - the sickness
Disintegration - the death
Bloodflowers - the funeral

make any sense?

I would go as far as to say that this was the best Cure show ever. The DVD really captures what it was like to see them on the Bloodflowers tour, since they played a lot of songs from Pornography and Disintigration on it. I've already watched it like 5 times.
I wrote a review of it on nashvillezine.com, but I think my review sucks. I can't write.
Ghostflower- I like your theory! That rocks.
