TOPIC: The Features in L.A.
Posted  Sunday, November 3, 2002 at 4:00 PM
Post 1 of 23
I was as shocked as most of you when I found out that our beloved features are playing Lod Angeles. I am very happy for them and I hope that the gig is a success. Perhaps a label rep will wander past the club; hear the sweet strains of "walk you home" and gives them a well deserved deal....

Hey, yo, Ray, this can go in the General Discussion board. Definitely has to do with the Features.

It's a very important show for the guys. I hope anybody who reads this board who's in the LA area (and as the email said that many of you get, if you have friends that live in the area have them...) head on down to the show:

Thursday, November 7th
9:00pm @ The 56
7000 Santa Monica Blvd. @ Orange
between, Highland and LaBrea in Hollywood

I'm sure Matt Mahaffey and the other Self boys will be there, as well as Seth Timbs and Justin Meyer from Fl. Oz. I think even the Moore brothers from the Katies live out there too now. So they'll have some of their peeps in the audience cheering them on! It'll be just like the old Boro days when all the bands used to come support each other before Murfreesboro headed west 2 years ago.
good luck guys. tear LA a new asshole!

i think they are opening for sahara hotnights, who are pretty bad ass.
You know you have problems, with both money and alcohol, when you find yourself shoving beers down your pants outside a Features show.

What a good excuse to just catch a plane to L.A. Forget school. Forget work. If I weren't so uptight, I would just drop it all and go.
Nevertheless, good luck in L.A. guys. I hope you rock their brains out.

All the more reason that I wish I could be there.

Last time they played LA, they used borrowed equipment. Will that be the case for this trip, too?

I sure hope this show is going to be videotaped in some way, shape, form or fashion. I would love to see an LA Features show. Hopefully, the gig will feature some shenanigans a la David Lee Roth.

Rock on!
I would like to see Matt play Mahaffey's green jazzmaster, but it's good that they'll have all the right keyboards and stuff.

Ryan says the Sahara Hotnights suck. At least I think he said that. I haven't heard them.

If you know ANYONE in L.A., get them out to this show!

ok, i made the previous statement about the sahara hotnights afer only hearing one song, which was pretty good. i've recently heard the entire album when i reviewed it for WMTS, and i must say that they are merely ok, and not the new female saviors of rock that everyone has been saying.

Sahara Hotnights suck. So does all this other mediocre pansy-ass garage rock. These fucking swedes think that just because they never see the sun they can kick out the jams. Fuck them. Of all this shit, the Rapture and the Liars are the only bands that are worth a damn (not swedish). Division of Laura Lee blows, Soundtrack of Our Lives blow, Hives are okay. I just don't buy it. It's been done. Put it to bed and do something original. As for the Features, they are one of my favorite bands of all time. They could mop the floor with any of these fucks. I saw them play several sub-par shows in a row, and maybe I groaned about it. That's only because I'm used to being floored by them and I don't expect any less. I'll go to the mat for them any day. Their time has come.
