TOPIC: The Holidays

I don't know about anybody else, but I am really looking forward to the holidays this year. For some reason, I really need that sort of cheer right now.

That having been said, anybody doing anything exciting for Thanksgiving? My parents decided to go to England for two months, so we siblings will all be gathering for a strange, parentless Thanksgiving.

I guess I'm just feeling a little sentimental right now because I've been wrapping Christmas presents and listening to the "Rat Pack Christmas" tonight. I know it's way early, but my sibilings and I are exchanging gifts on Friday. I just had to get in the mood.

I'll be channeling my message board habits to FaLaLaLaLa.com this season to get into the holidays.

Well, happy Thanksgiving everyone.

I guess most of you haven't gotten into the Christmas spirit yet. Well, you still have a month to get cheery.

I also think everyone should post their letters to Santa here. I'll do mine soon.

I'm nearing the holiday spirit. I watched Elf with my parents tonight, so that helped some. If I don't wimp out, I'll be doing an all Christmas edition of IWE, Sadie, and mine's radio show (Friday, 10-Noon 88.3 wmts).

And watching The Office-Christmas Special definitely helped with the mood. The wallpaper for the special is on my computer right now.

Still...Thanksgiving is lame.

Surprisingly...no. I've just really wanted a black or greyish trenchcoat for a while now...bringing me closer to my dream of dressing like a businesswoman without really being one.
That's so NA.

Dear Santa Claus,

How have you been? Did you have a nice summer? How is your wife? I have been extra good this year, so I have a long list of presents that I want. Please note the size and color of each item, and send as many as possible. If it seems too complicated, make it easy on yourself: just send money. How about tens and twenties?

santa, you pretty much covered what i wanted for christmas when you woke me up at 5am to stand in line at best buy the day after thanksgiving. you bought me a really expensive digital camera, the first three seasons of seinfeld on dvd, and mean girls (only 9.99...what a steal!). you also ordered me a black peacoat that has yet to come in. it's cold and i would like that soon. but i've noticed that you're pretty strict on this whole "waiting 'til christmas to recieve your presents" thing. i've also noticed that you look a lot like my mom this year.

but if you have a little cash left over after everyone else's presents are bought, i would also like:
-the echo & the bunnymen boxed set (i know you can find it!)
-cold mountain dvd
-the white stripes dvd (actually, i probably will not be able to wait and will buy this myself, so if you could just leave money in the amount of the dvd...)
-some nice scarves (i've lost all mine)
-everything released on dvd for the following shows: dawson's creek, gilmore girls, saved by the bell, chapelle's show

ps-our christmas tree is already up (and has been since sunday). this should count for something.

actually we got up at 5am and got there around 6am. there were hundreds and hundreds of people in line. they had to let people inside in shifts (fire codes). we left, came back, and got in at about 7:30. everything was pretty picked through by then. they were all out of the first season of chapelle's show for 9.99, but i don't know about will and grace.

Some nice warm sweaters
A Lord of the Rings calender
