I just wanted to let evertyone know that Elvis Costello will be playing at the Ryman on October 30th. It should be amazing. I saw him in Atlanta and it left me in tears. I don't expect others to have the same reponse as me , but it was a great show. Tickets go on sale beginning of Sept. See ya there!!!

Yes, I heard about this today, and I will be there for sure. Ryman = Best sounding venue in Nashville. But I have a question - is this just Elvis by himself, or will he have a band?
Relevant: Prince, PT Anderson, Punk, Post-Punk, Purple, Party of Five, Peter Swanson, Peter Gabriel-led Genesis, "Peter Panic", Paul's Boutique, Potential Energy, Every Features MB member but me.

I am assuming that he will have the Imposters with him. That is who he has been touring with. I don't know since it is the Ryman and when you think of the Ryman you don't necessarily think of rock. I guess we'll see....

I'll second that. The Ben Folds Five show there a few years back simply floored me with the acoustics. But what do you expect from a former church?

You may like grandma's yard gnomes, but I've seen Rock City. Remember it.

I saw Elvis the last time he played the Ryman back in '99, with Steve Nieve backing him up. It was an amazing show. Elvis played for almost 3 hours. He gave what seemed like 4 or 5 encores that night. It was fucking awesome. I will definitely be at the Ryman in October.
