gawddam, this is an amazing movie. i've never known much about the band, until i bought this. i love to hear to levon helm speak and rick danko play bass. "don't do it" (i think that's the title, whatever the first song in the movie is) is my new favorite song.
You know you have problems, with both money and alcohol, when you find yourself shoving beers down your pants outside a Features show.

nothing beats van morrison and the band doing "caravan" in that movie. also as a side note, did you know that while filming the neil young portion of the movie (he does "helpless" with the band) martin scorcese noticed that neil had cocaine residue all around his nose. scorcese later had to doctor the footage to eliminate the residue. the last waltz is one of the greatest "rock and roll" movies of all time. i've been tempted to buy the new 4 cd box set soundtrack for quite a while now, but i just havent had the funds to do it.

i love the band. "the last waltz" is an amazing performance... they do what they do, and they do it incredibly well. i always keep a band album on hand just in case i need to come back down to earth.

I also enjoy the Van Morrison portion.... notice the outfit. Lace up pants...such confidence for a chubby little man. I was amazed. I saw it for the first time at the Belcourt last year and have seem it about 5 times since. It was actually on TV this weekend along with other music movies. Glad to hear that other youngsters appreciate it.

this has nothing to do with the last waltz, but this is more of a question for johnny thunder...do you live on water and feed on lightning? or is your name an homage to the late ny dolls guitarist? or both? Just wondering.

i really dig the kinks' "one of the survivors." i had that on a cassette several years ago. and the dolls rock, but they weren't an inspiration for my moniker.

"he's one of the survivors
the motorbike riders
you oughtta to see johnny thunder riding down the highway"
