I remember that one. I think it's one of the best they've ever done. And it hits SO close to home. I could easily substitute in people that I know to that story.
Relevant: Prince, PT Anderson, Punk, Post-Punk, Purple, Party of Five, Peter Swanson, Peter Gabriel-led Genesis, "Peter Panic", Paul's Boutique, Potential Energy, Every Features MB member but me.

I would just like to add that the 40 Watt Club and Wuxtry Records both figure heavily into R.E.M. lore.

One would think that a story about a man burning a kitten on a barbecue grill would be from The Onion, but, sadly, it's not.
