i must shout out to deevol for turning me on to such a killer band.
You know you have problems, with both money and alcohol, when you find yourself shoving beers down your pants outside a Features show.

yes, props to roadie, and also neuboy, whose copy was thrown in the player the first time I heard it. I bought the album two days after experiencing it at the idaho. I wish Roadie would have been more convincing about catching them in ATL.

Features Fun Fact #175f:

I actually think I have mentioned part of this story before but...I saw the Features play in Austin and the bartender let me drink for free when I told him I was from the same town as The Features. Spoon played right before the Features and that was my second time seeing Spoon out of four.

P.S. I guess no one remembers the 328 show with Spoon and Creeper Lagoon opening up for Harvey Danger. Was anyone there or am I really that much cooler than everyone else....maybe just older.

I feel old school. I saw Spoon open up for some band, maybe even Crop Circle Hoax, at Lucy's Record Shop. At the time my best friend and I thought they just sounded like a Pixies ripoff. And we weren't too off the mark because I read a review of "Kill the Moonlight" the other day that said something about Spoon coming a long way from imitating the Pixies to making one of the best albums of 2002.

That's pretty cool. I'm totally uncool enough to really like Harvey Danger a lot. I like Creeper Lagoon too, thanks to Scudder.

Was your Austin experience after or before you knew the Features?

Creeper Lagoon kicks major ass. I'm interested to hear the new EP now that it's strictly Sharky's show.

i had and still have no idea what harvey danger sounds like. i only went there to see spoon and creeper lagoon and left. all i know is there were a lot of typical college kids there obviously just waiting for harvey danger to come on (which is why i made a quick exit). very few people were into spoon or creeper lagoon. idiots.

I was working for the MTSU radio station and the college was nice enough to pay for my drunken debauchery at SXSW that year. I knew of them and had seen them in murfreesboro....but I didn't really know them.

Uncool guy number one right here. If the Nuge is on the radio, the volume goes up.

Believe it or not, some of us here aren't musical snobs.

Blasphemy. You're only allowed to listen to certain artists, and only certain records by those certain artists. And when I say records, I do in fact mean vinyl. Didn't you get the memo?
