any intelligent person knows the who are better, but i'm just wondering. i like hendrix a lot, but i certainly prefer the who. zeppelin only wrote about 3 worthwhile songs. i'm sure you heathens will beg to differ.

Hendrix... good lyrics. the Who... yeah. Zepp.... albums good. They covered alot of blues tunes. So why were they such a good studio band and a decent live band. The world may never know.

Okay, if we're comparing entire catalogs here, I've gotta go with Led Zeppelin.  The Who's best songs and best albums are better than Zep's best songs/albums, and the Who were definitely cooler.  But you just can't argue with the body of work that Zeppelin made.  Also, Led Zeppelin had the sense and good taste to call it quits after their drummer died.

I admire Jimi Hendrix and will certainly agree that he was revolutionary, but to me personally he was always a little too acid-ic or too much of a space cadet or hippy or whatever you want to call it.  My favorite Hendrix song is '1983'.

my favorite hendrix song is 'she's so fine.' god bless noel redding and his cheeky british ways. axis: bold as love is the goods. my personal pick for greatest rhytmn guitar album of all time.

elt, i do not see how you can compare these three rock outfits. the only shared qualities are the fact that they were popular in ole' england first and that they took lots of drugs.
You know you have problems, with both money and alcohol, when you find yourself shoving beers down your pants outside a Features show.

agreed, its not necesarily a fair question. I just love led zeppelin, what can i say. they have such a huge catalogue of different stuff and they were each individually talented musicans, but worked like hell as a whole too. look past the fact that they are so popular and overplayed. they're incredible songwriters. half of the shit that (well, the good stuff anyway) that's out right now would never have existed if it werne't for zeppelin. they were fucking innovative and strong.
hendrix was a good guy, there is no denying that, and the who is a damn fine band, all each individually talented as well, with a large catalogue.
Its a tough call, and a weird question.
but personally, led zeppelin holds a special place in my heart.
thank you for being a friend.

Those songs that the white people sang don't count. Try again.

it wasn't my intention to compare them. i'm curious to see people's personal preference and why.
the three groups actually get lumped in together quite a bit. i agree that they sound nothing alike.

i disagree with that. most bands influenced by zeppelin tend to suck. of course i don't really like them anyway. other bands/artists than tend to influence shitty bands/imitators: van morrison, bob dylan, the replacements, the rolling stones, the smiths, radiohead.
