I don't know if you'll get a much better reception here joeywade. I was disappointed in the 2nd quarter crumble for sure. No one gave us a chance, the Titans had me believing we could prove them wrong for a while. Oh well, after a 1-4 start, I'd say things turned out pretty well. Now I can't decide who to pull against in the super bowl, I don't really like either team. Probably root for Oakland, their in the AFC, it will make us look slightly better, and my grief with them has more to do with the fans and ownership than players, although I dislike romanowski almost as much as sapp.

I agree, deevol. I thought we were going to pull off a huge upset up until the end of the 1st half. We totally dominated them and even Eddie was having a good game. But you CAN'T turn the ball over twice (once inside our own 20) to the damn Raiders and expect to win. Steve can only carry the team so far on his injury-ridden shoulders.

But, like you say, after a 1-4 start and NO ONE giving them a chance in hell to win, they looked pretty good as a serious threat for next season.

I'm pulling for Tampa simply b/c of Romonowski and the fact that it totally would screw up Oakland's big plan of assembling an aging all-star team for a run at a championship. ph34r.gif

I am a huge fan to say the least. People can hate on pro football (or any pro sport) all they want to, but after a lifetime of rooting for Vanderbilt football, I'm just ecstatic to have a team that's mine that is actually competitive. Is that so wrong?

I am heartbroken after last night's game. I really do believe that we could have beaten Oakland. We had them right where we wanted them. I really do believe that the entire game turned on those two late-second quarter fumbles. Robert Holcombe and John Simon lost this game for us. Oh well. It was an incredible year. Steve McNair is my hero.

My life always feels a little bit hollow after the Titans' season is over.

Being an asthmatic little wimp, I must say that I loathe sports in most all of their incarnations (except baseball, which I can enjoy if I'm actually at the game). My entire family loves football to the point of yelling at the TV and decorating a whole room in a teams color (let's just say that guests at my old house almost had seizures due to waking up to the blinding Orange/White combo). Because of this, I think I OD'ed on sports at an early age. I like game shows.

And since my parents hate the Titans because they "took attention away from UT" (that sorta puts my Radiohead and Simpsons hatred in perspective...), I too feel obligated to not like them. dry.gif

I'm with deevol, JC, and Wash Jones. After hearing the four commentators' predictions, I was thinking of how nice it would be for the Titans to pull it off. And, before the end of the first half, like you all, I thought that we could do it.
The second half was just brutal(probably b/c I was disappointed). But, McNair is an awesome player, to say the least.

haha DigsySlattery, i guess i'm the complete opposite of you, my parents didn't really care for sports that much... my dad watched football on sundays but always fell asleep. so i grew up not really hating sports ( i played soccer and baseball as a small kid) just not being interested by them. i started watching football in high-school, but nothing else. then, when the titans made it to the playoffs in '99 i decided for some reason i wanted to go to the playoff game for my bday. that was the music city miracle game and i've been hooked on pro football since then. my room has turned into something that looks like a titans hall of fame, and i gotta say that it is much easier on the eye than that orange and white room you were talking about. i am prolly the biggest titans fan you'll ever hear or see from (i'm one of those idiots that camp out for tickets.) but i promise i won't invade the board with titans stuff, i was just coping with an awful game and curious how everyone else felt about them...

I wouldn't place the blame soley on Simon and Hollywood Holcombe. We had no defense the whole game. No pass coverage, no one putting pressure on Gannon except in the few instances we blitzed, etc. The only times Oakland had to give up the ball was when they dropped what should have been easy passes. The Titans are going to have to get their defense together, because like someone already said, McNair can't carry the team on his own, though he really really tries.
I TOTALLY AGREE!

Keith, you are destined to rock. Never forget this.

I knew we were going to lose when we got that fumble in the 2nd quarter on their 40 yard line and ran the ball one 1st and 2nd down. The old Titans creeped back there for a second. I got sick of hearing quotes from Fisher from sideline reporters that they had nothing to lose and they were going to play like it. Oh yeah? Why didn't you play like it there? The only person who truly played that way was McNair. I wish his ability to overcome injuries would rub off on other places, especially Dyson in the secondary.

Defensively I don't think there was anything you could do to stop the Raiders. You are seeing something special in Gannon. The guy is in complete control. He's truly in the zone. You blitz him and you can take your pick of who's going to burn you. When you have three wide outs PLUS a running back with nearly 90 catches than what the hell can you do other than hope you get to Gannon, somehow rattle him, or guys drop passes (which happened but didn't really quite add up for us). Oh well... here's hoping they do go and get some more cornerbacks in the draft and free agency. We have a good starting four in the secondary, but each game it seems one of them has to get hurt and when I see Sydney out there I think the baby jesus starts crying.

Oaklands fucking scary. Did you hear about how they killed some Titans fan last year? And because of that no one was allowed to wear anything Titans related to this game, not earrings not an emblem. And apparently there were a bunch of riots and stff in Oakland after the game and "the black hole" or whatever? They are crazy.
You're so fucking money you don't even know it

I know, I watched the game with my sisters at one of their empty houses, we were all trying to get away from the men that were watching the game at my house. Who were separated on different sides of our living room one side Titans the other Raiders....

My sisters and I odd enough ended up watching the game. I belive if the Titans had won the game there would have been a riot in freaking Oakland rolleyes.gif That crowd was crazy! An what hell are those Oakland boys eating???!!! They were so huge, man the Titans needed to wrk out man... at times they couldn't knock those boys down...
